A few people have mounted it just under the bumper in front of the opening to the grill. I can't remember who, but they somehow turned the mounting bracket upside down, I think. Hopefully someone will post some pics.

I'm not sure if this is legal or not but I have mine on the right side of my dash. Kind of laying down, get what I mean? It looks ALOT better.

I simply removed it from my front bumper... I know it is illegal, but I don't think cops will pull you over for just not having front lic, unless you are so attractive. There are a lot of cars don't have it in the front in my area.

Lucky that you live in CA. In Oregon, every County, City, and the State are so hard up for cash, you'll get tagged for not driving with two hands on the wheel.

The cops don't pulll you over for that. But when you are parked, you are almost garanteed a ticket in chicago for no front plates. they make the car look uglier, but paying money for this shit sucks more.

I just flipped mine upside down and bolted it into the underside of the bumper lip. See pix in signature (I blacked out the plate but you can kinda see where it sits...)

i just drilled small holes in the underside of the bumper to match up with the 2 holes already on the "top" of the license plate holder. I'll take pix if the rain ever stops.

Someone got some metal strips with holes in them (like heavy duty erector set stuff) and then mounted it off the LOWER holes. It was a long time ago and I can't remember who did it.

I have my front plate mounted in the trunk on top of the spare tire.

I have it in the trunk. One of the screws came out, so I took it off untill I can get to a dealer and get a new screw. That was about 2 years ago, still looking.. YMMV

Well... my front plate was destroyed when i got rear ended 2 years ago..... i never got pulled over for front plate... but i got ticketed twice... they're both while illegal parking.... to me 35$ ticket for 2 years... like $70 is well worth it for the much cleaner look... think of it as getting gas

besides here in Cali if u still have the plate u can just put it on take a picture to prove it and pay $10 for the ticket...

I've driven around cops on the road, passed parked cops, and I've even pulled into a parking lot with cops in 4 crusiers.

I figure if you don't do anything to bring attention to yourself, you shouldn't have any problems. Obviously there are going to be some assholes on an ego-trip and they'll go out of their way to give you a hard time. But from what I've seen, the majority are too busy to waste their time for a stupid "fix-it" ticket.
