First - I sure am glad that your friend is OK.

Second - This is not the first time that someone has posted about a CL crash. Many others have been much worse than this. Our car sure seems to protect it's occupants well. A few of the cars were basically ripped apart and the driver only suffered a few injuries. I don't know about y'all, but I am impressed with the safety record so far.

Just my $.02.
