mounting hella micro de? in 03 insert or bumper

following some of fuzzy's instructions, he mounted his PIAA 01's into 03 inserts with minimal cutting

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...highlight=piaa

however, his piaa's are a lot smaller than the hella micro de's. i didn't even think about the size because other people had done it before.

are you guys just mounting it to the bumper? i wanted OEM look but maybe i'll just have to scrap the 03 inserts and just go with a grille/vent/shroud for the fog

I started doing this same thing last year but never got very far. You'll need to do some custom molding to get the Micro DE's to fit in the OEM bumper insert, which I haven't found the time to do. Snap a couple pics of what you got, i'd be interested in seeing how you went about it.

well i did it all, i mounted onto the actual metal bumper and not the bumper cover. it was much more time consuming as i did it twice, but it turned out pretty good. i will probably do a custom shroud around the projector. just need to aim them now.
