Motor mount replacement
I need to know how hard it is to replace the mounts & which ones need to be replaced. The side one is leaking. The others look ok to me so which ones should I replace. I can get them all for like $300.
Are the mounts for the 6mt the same as the auto? I know the 6mt had an additional mount, but is it an engine mount or the shock absorber thing?
I looked at the parts websites & see the diagrams & seen the pics when I searched. I'm not filling them, just want to replace what's needed.
Thanks

replace the front and passenger side, if one is broken, the other is too.
part #s for the manual only:
front: 50800-S3M-A01: $80.98 (has a new part #: 50800S0KA82, you can use either, you will get the new one regardless)
passenger: 50820-S3M-A81: $46.99
order from oemacuraparts.com by clicking "oem parts catalog" and entering in the part #s i gave you.

Question... the side mount part # brings up several applications. Would any of them work?
So how hard is the front to replace? Do I have to lift the engine?
yup. their all the same mounts, just showing which cars utilize it.
i think you need to lift the engine up, you can use a floor jack and a p iece of wood to get it up to relieve pressure on the mounts.

I only got the side mount. I didn't see spending any more $$ on the front or rear mounts cause they seemed ok to me.
For anyone who does the side mount themselves. GET AIR TOOLS! The bolts that hold the engine bracket & the mount were REALLY stuck on there. Had to use a breaker bar plus the air to get them off. There's no way just a rachet is going to get those off. Once the bolts are out it's easy to replace. You will scratch the paint in the engine bay. I don't see how you wouldn't. You have to twist the mount in different angles to get it out. Once you get the bolt out it's a 10 minute job.
You have to unbolt the cruise amp - 3 10mm bolts, & set it aside
Next you need to take out the big bolt going through the mount. - 1 17mm bolt
Next unbolt the mount & the engine mount bracket to the engine. - 5 14mm bolts
Wiggle it out
Wiggle the new one in.
Reverse directions.

How can jacking the engine help any? It's still held in place by the front & rear mounts as well as those shock mount things. I don't see how you would be able to jack it up, or why that would make the side mount any easy to get the bolts out of. The side mount is a sold piece bolted to the engine, & the body.
You're not really jacking up the engine since it's still held in place by the motor mounts...
What you are doing by jacking up the engine slightly, is removing the tension/weight of the engine off the motor mounts so that you can slide 'em out easily.
It's like trying to move a carpet in a house without removing the funiture... remove the weight of the furniture, and the carpet is easy to remove

you know it's funny I also was told my motor mounts are screwed and they said we'd have to fix them first, before looking into the slipping tranny. they said the mounts might be causing the problem.
I did order them and have them sitting here. I have to install soon but I don't think I'll be doing a DIY. Who the hell knows how to fill that thing and where does that vacuum line go and do
