Yeah the headers are sweet .... you will be very happy with them and itching to get them in... when you get the box you might be disappointed... I thought it would be huge... but it actually fit in your trunk and the sway box will fit across your back seats.. but you already know that since you got them...LOL... you pansy... Okay so what is the next mod... I was thinking Exhaust but I like my tips..

what? I don't know what you are talking about.

Dude, so I heard that an exhaust will give you like 3-5hp and plus it sounds bad ass. Just something to think about....

And if you're going to get into Auto-crossing...you might want to invest in some good brake disc/pads....

Oh yeah...those Neuspeed upper strut bars may not add too much to the front end feel, but they look cool. Something else to think about...

hehehehehe....

^^

I have heard of 1-3hp gains because we already have a free-flowing exhaust. Mostly for looks/sound

Yo...have you heard of Koni Yellow Struts. I've heard good things about them on this board. I think Deansbluesi might even be able to hook you up....

I would PASS on the exhaust for the 6-Speed.
My 2003 sounds quite a bit different then my 2001 did.
It’s more aggressive even with the stock equipment.
I think Acura made some changes on the 2003 so the gains in HP and sound quality are probably now ZERO.

Did you have headers on the 2001? They gave mine that exhaust note that was lacking.

No headers on my 2001, but I have heard CL’s with Headers and Exhaust.
I swear the 2003 has THAT sound with all the stock pipes.

Smitty, did you notice a change in the tone when you put just the headers on?

Only in the garage and when your next to the Jersy Barrier on the highway and you tromp the pedal to the floor from 5th to 3rd... the freaking thing screams and tachs out very fast... OOh man your gonna love them... let me know what you think about there being no heat shield on there after you get them on.. the front header is pretty close to the plastic fan, but I think the Stainless steel is cooler in temp than the old forged one... let me know what you think...

Smitty

Chikai I am working on Shawn for the chrome piece, but he is playing hard ball...LOL

I’m talking about the sound at IDLE or when you “blip” the throttle.
I never rode in a CL with Headers.....Till Saturday afternoon that is.

The stock 2003 definitely has more of that RUMBLE you get with headers & exhaust.

I found this on the press CD for the 2003 “new features” list:

The redesigned rear end features new, more aggressive tail pipe finishers and revised tail light lenses with a clear upper portion for the turn signal.

The Type-S 6-Speed exhaust has also been tuned to provide an aggressive, performance-oriented note while minimizing noise at cruising speed.

I have to agree, I noticed the same thing this weekend. A different tone, also more aggresive. I attribute it to the more direct linking of the engine and transmission instead of that fluid coupling.

Same thing with my wife's 5-Speed Manual BMW, the automatics also tend to be more docile in sound.

christ almighty, for 66 grand you could be rolling a fucking new M5!!! or a late model NSX or a modded, 10 second Z06, or a heavily modded, pimped out M3..damn, i cant imagine spending that kind of money on something you will never even see any type of return on, you would be lucky to get 20-30k for the car when you sell it....
