Mod my 6sp CL or get a new TL
So i finally got behind the wheel of a 6sp navi TL on Saturday and loved it. Right now I have a 6sp CL nav...stock except for the M5 lip, tint and XM...and I was wondering if all the people with 6sps that are lowered and have intake and headers have any thoughts on whether I should just mod my car or get the TL? I still love my cars looks and interior comfort, but the navi in the TL and the interior was just plain bad ass. Its so much better than the old school navi one I have.
So is the extra money for the TL worth it for handling, interior and such, or is moding my car the way to go. If anyone in the Orlando area has a modded 6sp I could check out that would be helpful in my decision.
Thanks

and in 2 years, the 04 TL Navi will look dated too. I like 2 doors, so until a new coupe is out, the CL is it. I have a 6 speed Navi too. Never liked sedans, but a coupe off the TL or even the new RL would be an improvement on the CL, and cost about $10k more too.

Why you gonna waste 10 G's on almost the same car with 4 doors?? You must have mad money to burn. You can get springs, shocks, sways, headers, icebox for under 3G's. Throw in a S/C and your are at around 6. Why spend more to to get a 4 door CL. it's still FWD, and weight dist is still around 60/40, I doubt it handles much better. If your'e gonna trade in why don't you get something RWD with real Mod potential and HP.
I don't think that it's such a bad idea to do that, I just don't think it's a good idea. By any means. I must say, however, that I prefer the 04 TL styling over our CL styling, stock for stock. Also, comparing how unique a 6MT CL-S vs. TL is like comparing the Backstreet Boys with the Humbajumbaleebees.
Except that the Humbajumbaleebees are ficticious. But you get my drift. Keep the 6MT, you're a lucky guy to have it. Mod ze fuck out of it. Turbo it like Allmotor and... you will never consider the TL again

The CLS 6MT when modded right will out run, out handle & outdrive a new TL. Also keep in mind the TL is a new car. Mods aren't great yet for it. I drove a new TL & compared it to my 6sp & my car is better in every performance group.
I hate the torque steer on the new TL and won't even consider it as a replacement. TS on ours is already bad enough. Keep the CL or move to a rear-wheel or all-wheel drive car if you like handling while you steer.
take the extra money you would spend on the TL, and the money you wud lose on the cl, and mod the hell out of the cl. i tell you, if you get a supercharger, your fun factor will be off the charts.

I can vouch for that.

TLs are running rampant (through out NYC) they just arent "original"
If you are thinking about getting an A SPEC... forget everything i said...
