Mini Cooper S

Just thought I'd tell you guys about this car...

1.6L 163hp ~150torque supercharged with intake scoop in the hood

flat tire moniters
DSA traction control
Climate Control... even in the glove box
infrared moister sensor for the front windshield
navigation system
rear hypersonic distance parking sensor
6 speed double synchro manual
5 passenger leather with heating
rear view dimming mirror
audio/cruise controls on steering wheel
8 speaker powerfull stereo system
60% of the roof is the panoramic moon roof!!! even the rear passengers can look up
the car is two doors and like ~143 inches long... and extrmely wide!
the front winshield has a second invisible layer that heats it to clear it in the morning for you
the winshield water spray things are heated so they won't freeze
the side mirrors have heating
has wipers on the back window too
has an onboard computer that tells you everything from like 13 miles to your next oil change to you are doing 34mpg to your lunch tommorow
the key looks like a normal key who just happens to also be the remote at the same time
if you lock your key twice it'll close all your windows and sun roof
it has a HUGE tach right in front of the driver and the speedometer is right in the dead middle of the car... but if you get the navi... the middle becomes navi and they put new speedo next to the tach

the engine is manufactured by BMW
it will be at selected few BMW dealers starting March of 2002

check out their site, it is awesome!

I think only thing missing is infrared night vision, remote starter,
front hypersonic parking sensors, and a Honda engine.... hmm... if only the Civic TypeR came to the USA and had all these features!!!

did I mention the S version of this car starts at $19,850!!!!!

The wait on that car is going to be obscene (unless your already on the list, or want to pay), first off...it isn't a bargain to begin with- a nicely loaded Cooper S is like $21-$23k.

Only 18,000 are allocated to the US for the first year, VW managed to sell 50,000 Beetles in the first 6 months.

Mini= Huge Dealer Markups.

I'm a nut for luxury but I want light for speed, short to cut corners

I guess a dream car for me would be the latest hatchbatch Civic TypeR which is not in the USA with navigation, hypersonic sensors in back and front, remote starter, infrared moister sensing windshield wipers, infrared night vision, xenons, kick ass stereo... and upgraded engine from pistons, rods, valves, cam shaft, p&p head/tb, high psi turbo, free flowing intake exhuast, fpr, higher cc injectors etc etc... basically super suped up with all the luxury and dyno tuned so it idles right and is daily driver

I'll continue to dream now

The coopers are going to be death traps for back seat passengers, because the bumper height is very low, to the impact will happen where there is only 10 inches between the back of the car and the passengers backs. even if they hit the bumper it is only 14. The crumple zone in the back will include the passengers spines. If any one is planning on getting one, take out the back seat. But i do like them, so it at the detroit auto show, the mini S is very nice.
