Metallic Tint-Navi,AM-no problem!

Hi guys for anyone who is considering tinting and is worried about am radio fading or navigation system not working I just want to say that I recently got llumastar 100% metallic tint put on my car and there have been no problems with anything. I am very pleased with the outcome. I knew I did not want to tint my car if there was any chance of it fading at all (non metallic tint) as I will probably keep it for the long haul. The warranty on the llumastar is lifetime against
fading,peeling cracking..anything.

All brands are different and I would still advise people to avoid metallic.
Especially if you have a radar detector with rear sensing.
It’s a proven fact that metal reduces radio/radar signals.
One guy on here a while back had his installer lay a sheet of metallic tint across the back window of the car and the Navi signal instantly went from green to yellow.
Took it off and it went back to green.
Add in bad weather and the signal will be further reduced.

Also I’ve had non-metallic tint on all my cars for the last 20-years or so and never had one fade.
As long as you stay away from the 9.99 Pep-Boys special you’ll be OK.

shawn..

Cant vouch for radar detector because I dont have one but the tint shop told me the newest llumar tint is supposedly *made* to not interfere with Radar, navi etc. As you know, I did extensive research before tinting...(perhaps too extensive..lol) and I ran into far more shops saying dye tint will fade in 3-4 years...while most shops said it was a rarity if the am or navi didnt work due to metallic tint. But really whatever works for you...Im happy with my metallic and you seem more than happy with your dye based. It seems both work well these days...
