6. Will there be any AMG vehicles for driving or display?
Yes – the C32 AMG will be driven by pro drivers taking you on a full-throttle ride. For additional AMG product information visit: www.MBUSA.com/amgcenter.

I love Mercedes(don't get me wrong) but the C class to me is overpriced.
#1. If you look at C230(high 20's low 30's) you can get a V-6 Accord EX loaded to the gills for that.
#2. The performance numbers they put up is okay at the best. Yes I know the E55 AMG is a bad ass car but unless your a "stright line" racer what good is it. because it only scored like a .83 g on a skidpad(or someting close to that) according to Car and Driver.
Yes it's a sedan and i admit it's fast(damn fast for that matter) but it's tougher to build a car that's both fast and handles well.
for 75 grand
you could take a WRX Sti have that thing tricked out to beat hell. and even beat the E55 AMG in stright line drag.
yes they have the 4matic models but they are dogs if you ask me. C320 215 HP V-6. not only is it underpowered but Mercedes is known for being HEAVY. so that soaks up some power.
if they want to catch the eye of the younger consumers(which are the ones buying the C classes)
they will have to make more exciting options/models.
Mercedes is kind of Like Lincoln in my mind they are an old timers car. yeah rappers and big timers roll in them but hell they are boring unless you get the AMG package. and if your plunking down that kind of paper you can do some crazy stuff with lower model cars.

I agree, the C class is overpriced and only the AMG line is more exciting, but very expensive and still not as "sport oriented" (i.e. handling and tranny) as the BMW M series. It's a different cup of tea for different people. IMHO, best way to do it is to wait 1-2 years for an used one and let the original owner take the hit in depreciation. What was once a $60k car 2 years ago can be had for $35k.

In a couple years I'm looking to get a new "fun car" I was thinking about C32 AMG(used) about 2 years old much like the one you have. The only thing I was wondering is #1. have you had any service work done to it(and if you did was it under extended warrenty)#2. does the car still feel tight
also give me your thoughts on the car(it's okay if you don't like it because i won't be offended)
the other car i was considering was a new S2K.
both i think would be fun rides but i never really thought about a used C32 AMG until recently because the 60 grand sticker for a new one.

- Build quality IMHO is very good...I have no other problems so far (had it for about 3 months now), but for a $60k car new some of the materials used could be better.
- Typical solid feel of a german car. Everything is tight and the previous owner kept it excellent condition.
- Power is GREAT and most people dont know how much raw power the C32 has & think "it's just a C class", so it's a nice sleeper.
- Performance mods are available and easy to get some more power out of a hand-built s/c motor (chip, pulley, intake, header, intercooler, plugs, etc.) With chip, pulley, & intake I dyno'd at 345hp / 341lb-ft.
- My only gripe is the handling could be better...something I'm looking into (i.e. coilovers & sways). Still debating if I want to give up some comfort for better handling.
The upcoming C55 gets a facelift on the interior and slighty on exterior (dual exhaust). 5.5L V8 N/A, no S/C like E55...about 15hp and 30lb-ft increase, but price will also increase to high 50s.
I still love my car

now question number 2. (seeing how a C32 driver) I know it's early to say but do you feel the C55 AMG(once it comes out) will be worth the money guys are willing to plunk down for it. Your talking high 50 -low 60 grand range. Your in a BMW M3 drop top range. which the M3 is a beast.

I dont think everyone is going to jump on the c55. Many of the members on mbworld, etc. seem like they will stay with their 32 unless they want to go to an e55. Some like the n/a V8, but i believe most like the s/c that can be easily & less costly modded with chip and pulley than bolt-ons with a V8. I believe the c55 will be introduced as a 2005 model late this year or early next in the US.
Although I wish I had touch-shift on the wheel, I dont think it's worth that kind of coin for a c55.

I went to this last year. The rides in the C32 were sweet. Everything else was okay, I could appreciate it. The food and drinks were okay too, nothing great.
We had a SELOC meet there. It was fun going as a group.

Only 3,300 have been/are going to be sold in the US by the end of this year since 2001. Since I plan to keep this car for quite some time, that actually wont matter to me as much.

if you were to go to new (a hot rod sedan with class)(so no WRX STi, or Lancer Evo) would you go a new C32 AMG or Jaguar S Type R.
personally(this is just me) I like the Jag's looks. the numbers are pretty close(i think the Benz is at 370 where the Jag 400 hp) i think the Jag would take the Benz in some curves(stock vs stock). the Benz would beat it in a strightline race. yes I admit the Benz is great in a stright line race but when I'm on a curvey road I like to push not only the car but my driving ability(i don't do it on a busy road) but if i'm out on a road by myself I like to get into the curve and probably get on it too hard. but i think it keeps my driving skills sharp.
tell me what you guys think

The Jag is a much bigger car than the C55/32 (192 vs. 179 inches in length) and much heavier as well (4046 vs. 3550 lbs). The 55 is estimated to be just as quick or slightly quicker than the 32 to 60 & 1/4 mile (4.77/13.24@106.86mph MT) while the Jag is a bit slower (5.2/13.69@101.31 MT). It seems after 60 is where the Jag really falls behind as it matched the CTS-V up to 60.
Braking and handling from reviews seem to be good (109ft, 65?mph in 600ft slalom, ?? skidpad MT), but C55 will have better handling than the 32 (117ft, 67.3mph, 0.85skidpad)
I would say the 55 between those two, but we have to see the final specs of the car once imported to the US. However, from what you said you want in a performance sedan, I would say go with a E46 M3 (when/if a sedan is released) or CTS-V. They both will handle better than the AMG stock and have good amount of power for less than $60k.

One other question, do they let you ride in the car (minus the C32) by yourself or does an instructor sit with you?
I have a feeling you go by yourself but i'm not 100% sure.

personally (this is me) I don't like the looks of the CTS to me the styling looks weird. I'd rather have a jag.

are these the crappy C classes? i dont like the 240's but i'd rock a 320 hard.
