Me vs. 1/4mile.

Got a chance to take the snake to the track yesterday... Knocked off a bunch of 12.8's and 9's with a best of 12.75@112.6.

Not too shabby for a basically stock ride! I think my car has a 12.4 in it if I could just get my 60 ft down. (2.06 was my best) Nitto DRs or BFG here I come!

Oh, had a chance to squeeze out a worked C5... he had exhaust, brakes, suspension work, and headers... he ran a 12.61 to my 12.77, but I got him on the RT. =) Racing is fun!

My car:

2003 Ford Mustang Cobra w/ CAI, exhaust, and shifter.

We'll see about that. =) They're fast, but nothing a smaller pulley couldn't take care of. Or a ported blower. Or a kenne belle/whipple twin screw. Or... the lsit goes on and on.... =)

Threads like this make me regret getting my CLS and waiting to get a Z06 next year... I like my car, but there's nothing like an american V8 pony or sports car!

Nice times stunna. Getting your 60' down to a 1.6 w/ slicks or drs will definitely get you into the low to mid 12s. Forget the BFG or Nitto DRs.........go w/ the MT ET Streets.....do it right the first time.

Did you dyno your cobra stock...what type of #s are you making?

The '07s are gonna be amazing - 475hp stock......w/ pulley, intake, exhaust and tune that baby's gonna be making 600 easy. Just means I can't stop modding my LX.......like I wasn't gonna anyway.

Nice numbers with the terminator. For the love of man kind get your 60' down. I get better than that with my Saleen Wheels (which are really heavy). Gotta love the power though, can't wait for the 475hp 07 Cobra to come out, that baby is mine

What I didn't mention was I had a couple 60-fts that were 2.3. I ran a couple high 12's and one run in the 13's... (13.06). So on the street, when you beat a car that you don't think you should, just remember, it's all about the driver!

And in this case, I was kinda sucking. On the other hand, I don't know that many people who shot under 2.0 second 60-ft on the stock terminator IRS. It seriously is painful to launch, because of either the super-bog, or the enormous wheel hop.

Cocoa, I bet that the guy driving the cobra couldn't launch his car. Without DR, the car is incredibly painful to launch. If you went from a roll, then I don't know what to tell you.

Oh yeah, I got the car flashed (too bad it was after the track), but didn't get a chance to dyno... with only exhaust, CAI, and tune, I should be about 425 rwhp/tq. I'm hoping that's good for 12.3's with DRs next time I go... I should actually be good for 12.3's already if I could only drop a 1.8 60 ft! =)

Yup, that sounds just about right. Hope he decided to upgrade his rear to a Ford 9", (and not the 8.8" stick) otherwise I'd give him 10 or 20 passes down the ttrack on slicks before his rear end goes BOOM! I got the chance to see a 2.4L kenne belle dynoing with about the same mods as your friend, plus he was shooting a 75 shot. I've never seen a car with Mickey Thompson ETs spin on the dyno. Hell, before this I've never even seen a car with enough power to spin on the dyno!

Sub 2.0 60' #s aren't unheard of on the stock IRS.......I know of about 4-5 '03-'04 conbras running high 10s low 11s w/ the stock IRS - w/ the help of DRs or slicks.

What rpm were you paunching at, what was your tire pressure, and how long of a burnout did you do when you pulled thesemtimes???

True, the IRS hip hop around. Straight axle for me . Stiffen it up a bit, put on drag radials and your good for 1.6" 60fters

Launched at about 2k with bog. I tried at 3k feathering, but got too much spin... whoops, I mean hop. Tire pressure is at stock (30 psi-ish) because I like to run at the track like I run on the street. No lightening, ran with spare tire, two 10" subs and amp and box. Again, I like to run like I look on the street.

I tried a burn out twice (without the water) but my car looked embarassing, hopping around like a bunny rabbit. I gave up because I really didn't want to blow up my half shafts (that happens if you hop too much)

I wish I could run anything under 2.0 60'... without cheater tire. I don't mind DR, because I can run them on the street, but I'm not interested in slicks because I like to run like I run on the street.
