is it me or is everyone switiching

is it me or is everyone switching to Nissan or Infiniti

it's not a bad thing but I see a lot of guys now with 350Z or G35 in their signature.

but I'm just as bad because I'll probably get once Sherri pays off her truck a new Maxima SL with Navigation
it's nothing against the TL-S but the Maxima more set up for me with all the outside temp, fuel mileage calculator, fuel left in tank, the motor won jd powers best 10 engine 9 years.and plus I like the looks of it.

me too.. honda accord is more reliable and the crampness of those z/g35c is just not for me.. and that's not taking into account the interior..

of course the reliability of the CL is questionable at best..

i dont like the feel of nissans.. i gave the g35 a long test drive before buying my cl and it felt good, but not great like my CL. ... to each their own..

cl is nice and rare.. Z and g35 are becoming so popular already.. and the g35 was already recalled.

People buy new cars all the time. Just because you're reading some posts about it does not make it a new issue.

I'm sure if the next generation of the Acura coupe was here we'd be seeing more stay within the 'family', but the current CL-S design is a couple years old, so they're going elsewhere to new ground (not to mention the bad taste left in those that had transmission issues). Perfectly understandable.

I, for one, say -- Who Cares!? I still love my car and others buying their new cars really have no influence on my own feelings -- I'm not that easily swayed.

(oh, and good luck/congratuations on those with new purchases).

hah slimey ... i agree.. to each their own.. i still love my cl like the first day i bought it.. drive is sooo silky smooth and powerful.. can roll down the windows, open the sunroof, crank up the volume, and cruise around comfortably and in style.. i love it.. i'm glad people are switching.. means my car is becoming even more rare (i know people will eventually pick up the used ones) but the more peopel change, the less CLs on the road, the happier I am.. so keep trading them in! :-)

The crowd that hangs out here are enthusiasts that like a little spice under the hood, which when comparing the TSX to the CLS/TLS, it just doesn't compete. I'd be very surprised to see people moving to the TSX that post here. It's a great car, but it's not our cup of tea...

Just my $0.02...

I like Nissan. I almost bought a 20th SE Max over the CL. The Z and G35C are not practical enough for me. The current Max and G35 do not offer enough over the CL to warrant a switch.

If I switched, probably pick up a 4Runner V8. Bit more utility, rugged, something that can take city driving.

I recently picked up a house, so no extra coin to spend on a different vehicle.

Re: is it me or is everyone switiching

I've noticed that a lot of the people who are defecting have had auto tranny problems with their CLs.

I bet a much smaller number of CL 6 speeders are defecting... not even sure I've seen one defection yet.

i don't know why acura canceled the cl unless they are renaming it coughegend, they're so tricky sometimes. the sales numbers weren't that low, especially compared to the 330ci.

Keep in mind that BMWs usually sell for sticker, and the margins on those cars are MUCH more than something like the CL. Every 330Ci that is made is sold at or near sticker. The same can not be said for the CL. So while there maybe only 500 330Cis sold, I'm sure BMW made a loit more money than Acura did by selling 1000 CLS in a month's time...

I don't plan on defecting for a while either. I'd be curious if the TL folks are defecting as well, and if they're migrating to the G35C/350Z or the G35 sedan instead. I was just talking to a buddy with an '02 TL, and if the G35 sedan was out when he was looking he'd have gone that route most likely.

As a side note, he's another case where he very much wished that they had the 6-speed in the TL, and back in '01.

I have to say, the interior of the G35, the tightness, the quality of the leather, are WORLDS above my CL. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my CL, but I don't know what some guys here are talking about with the G35 Interior.

Hey...I had 4...and 4 was enough. I will always be an Acura lover, they just aren't making anything that turns me on right now...perhaps in 2008 when this G35 is paid off.

Interiors (and many other things) are very subjective. Buy a car to drive, not for apperance, resale, status, awards, what a magazine prints, .

Reading your thread, you made the correct decision.

Look up at your dash. Typical Nissan/Infiniti stuff. Some like it, some don't.

To each their own. Congrats & enjoy your G35.

My comment wasn't meant to be mean, just sarcastic. But if you want to take it that way, that's fine!

What's even funnier is that you said u would get the car just for me. I really hope you do because I will never let u live that down.

Funny how u can bitch about money and being broke and then want to go out and buy a car.....just to spite some guy on the internet who doubted you.

Go ahead, moron.

I ain't gonna lie, if I did not have the GS, the G35 coupe would be a leading contender to be in the garage.

I just bought my Anthracite CL-S 6-speed a couple of months ago and seriously considered the G35 Coupe. I was really impressed by the outside looks of the car....it really is an eye catcher. But from a practical standpoint, the back seat was too cramped, the trunk was extremely small, and I didn't feel that the interior quality was on par with the CL. Plus, considering the price difference, the CL made more sense to me. But I've owned Acuras for the past 17 years, since they came out in 1986, so I'm probably not that objective.

no G35 it's RWD and with Ohio winters RWD car drive cars blow
the only infiniti car that's kind of hot FWD is the I35
and I can get a loaded Maxima SL for that and I think the Maximas are way hotter. plus the Maximas have about the same everything(motor, tranny, features) as the I35 so why spend an extra 2-3 grand just to say you have an Infiniti
I'd rather put it in options than just a car badge:P

I'll admit that FWD is better in the snow (and AWD even better), but if you know how to drive a RWD car in snow, it'll get you there just the same.

You guys that always bitch about RWD in the snow really crack me up. You sound like my mom
