Maybe Actuator Maybe Not ??? - Please help!

i went to my dealer yesterday to get my 30k and have my actuator looked at as i feel it is suspect.

I took a technician for a ride and he understood what i was talking about. when i came back at the end of the day, he said they checked the vtec solenoid and the car was operating within manufacturer's design parameters.

i think that when the car gets to about 4k rpm, it should feel like it's "getting it's second wind" and take off.

am i wrong about the above statement? if not, what should be my next course of action?

I guess i should enlist one of my buddies to help me check it as shown on a previous post.

help and thanks!

J

Uh, I don't understand this - you looked at the actuator to see if it opens, right?
My actuator is fine, but I don't feel a noticable difference at the point when the actuator opens.

I think a lot of PPl are mistaking the VTEC engaging with the Actuator engaging. The Actuator engages at about 3800-4000 RPM and VTEC kicks in somewhere in the 5500-6000 range. I think a lot of ppl are also assuming the TYPE S gives something similar to a turbo or supercharger.. NO. You shouldn't feel a second wind at all, if anything the actuator just helps the engine gain power at a normal rate that is higher than what the CLP would do in the same situation. So long as u can see the actuator engaging, there's nothing you can say is broken, whether or not you feel it.

OK, relax....run a search on "Actuator" and print out "all" materials etc....bring that in to the dealership service rep. and show them, in a kind but assertive manner. Have them call Wayne Gruen and Parc Avenue Acura in New Jersey. It will tell you where to locate Wayne in your searches.
Please understand, that the computer will NOT give a problem/negative code.....that is what is strange about this findings and fix.....It is called the "Bypass Actuate Valve", which is NOT the item we "SEE" moving etc....in the demonstrations etc......it is a "HIDDEN NIGHTMARE" and takes CONFIDENCE to present to mostly INNOCENT PEOPLE IMPLOYEED by HONDA in one way or another......
Hope this is helpfull......
