May have a problem, Ace Manta issue. HELP...

Okay, I ordered two 19" x 8" ace manta's with a 43 offset and 235/35/19 tires. The wheels are going in the back and the 18's ( which don't rub) are going in the front. What do you guys think about the fitment? I saw someone's sig who had 19" ace manta's but forgot who it was, Now I need to find out since they will be here in 3 days. Please don't critisize my choice, it's a weird setup, but I want to try something different.

hey rondog...

I will cross my fingers for you.. I think my C5 19's had +46mm offset, with 235/35's rubbed in the back like crazy before I rolled my rear fenders.. now it only rubs with a full load, or I hit a big dip in the road.

I have a 1.25" drop in the rear.. probably 1.5" now that the springs has settled..

Good Luck!!

I'm worried about the inside of the wheel and tire rubbing, not the lip facing outward on the fender, that can be rolled. Damn, I swear someone had 19" mantas in their sig.

Yeah but if the Axis wheel is 19x8" w/ a 43mm offset...and he doesn't rub then neither will u . Just make sure the tire width is the same also . All 19x8" rims w/ a 43mm offset are the same . If the specs are the same , then it doesn't matter about style . Hope that helps.

I have them but my fenders were rolled. I've experinced no problems with them. With that said, I've never have more than my kids (7 & 8) in the back and the wife in the front. Maybe with heavier passengers there might be a problem.

Just out of Curiosity, how much did they cost?

Rondog, i found out some interesting info from a CL-S 6 speed guy that came to the shop tonight. He had 19x8 tenzo r wheels with a 44 offset and 235/45 series rubber and he rubbed like a bitch. Rolling wasnt enough, plus sylvio is experiencing some severe paint peeling and bubbling from rolling the fenders, he might have to paint the quarter panel. He has new rims now, he is running lowenhart br-5 with a 46 offset, 19x 8 with 235/35 series rubber and he still rubs a little when hitting a dip.

your not going to rub on the inside. it will be on the outside if you do. if you keep the CT springs you should be fine. i'd plan on ordering a 2nd pair of 19's for the front though.

wayne, your car looks sweet. how did you do the acura centercaps?

wow, wayne, i really like your setup, and color of the car. So you don't have rubbing issues in the front or back and you rolled your fenders? I'm hopeing I don't have to roll, I've heard nabout rusting nightmares and all.

Wayne,

Your car is so damn sweet looking!!! I love that color, and the rims worked out beautiful!!!

Rondog,

You're right, my fenders paint are also rubbed off.. sucks.. but luckly you can't see it from the out side.. you can only feel it when you reach in with your finger and feel for it... I try to prevent the rusting by sparying rust proof stuff every once in a while...
