Maintenance Required flashing

Today my Maintenance light flashed about 10 times when I started the car. In disbelief, I shut off the car and restarted it. It happened again. I don't know if this was talked about before but if so, can someone enlighten me. Thanks

You can reset the maintenance light (if you don't already know how):

HOLD down both the SELECT and RESET buttons on the right of instrument panels. Turn on the ignition and then after 10 seconds, release both SELECT and RESET buttons. It will turn the maintenance light off.

It keeps flashing because I think you are nearing or on 7500 miles and after that, it will remain on. I think I recall all of this from the manual.

Wasn't there something about the gas cap not being clicked 3 time when closing that light would come on?

DDT-TypeS you're absolutely correct. I have 6089 miles on my car. After I read your post, I looked in the manual and found it on page 63. From 0-6000 miles the light stays on for two seconds and from 6000-7500, it stays on for 10seconds. After 7500, it stays on constantly until reset. Cool, thanks for your help. I was just too lazy to pick up the manual. Thanks again.

I think that would be the check engine light not the maint light.

I just had to reset mine the other week when I passed the 6,000 mark.

I didn't want to watch that damn light flashing every morning for the next 2-months.

Thank you soooo soooo much. I have 16,000+ miles on my CL-S and the Maintenance light came on after 15,000 so I took it in for it's schedules oil change and they wanted $285 for the car's 15,000 mile service. And I said what service. This car is new, if anything goes wrong with it then they have to fix it!!! I am not going to pay them $285 to change the motor and transmission oil, check the brakes, brake fluid, rotate the tires and wash it for me. That is a joke!!! The only thing that bugged the hell out of me is the Maintenance light, I hated that stupid thing until I read your post last night. I tried to reset it and PRESTO it went away. I love you for that. To all new CL drivers don't waste the money on the service. I get my oil changed there but that is all. I am not going to get ripped off by that shit!!! What a country. Plus my dealer has raised the price of an oil change to $36 from $29. I mean $29 is not bad but since we are in this energy crisis in California they decide to raise it $7, what a joke. I think that I will be changing my own from now on. Thanks again for all your help.

At least it's not like the old Mercedes Benz's where you had to chip it to get rid of the light!

the dealer here in Raleigh(Leith Acura) charges $39 for an oil change. Too bad the next closest dealer is about 30 miles but they charge $30 for an oil change. I am afraid to ask Leith Acura how much the 7500 service is since I do have 6500 miles now.
