Please read the manual. Before reaching 7,500 miles (from the last time it was reset) it will start to blinking. When it gets to 7,500 it will remain on.

You might be due for an oil change. The acura dealer is supposed to reset it after doing an oil change. Sometimes they forget

My light just started to flash at 6K miles. Even though I had an oil change already, I'm resetting mine tonight.

To reset:

press and hold the "select" and "reset" button.

Turn the key to "on" position while holding the button until the "maint. req" light go off. I takes around ten seconds.

I know this because it just came on for me at 17,000 miles, and the dealer told me to go ahead and reset it. Getting everything done on my next oil change..
