My maintainance light just came on, and I change my oil last 3 months ago with 5,539 now i had 7,500 miles. Also, i have a custom made short ram air intake(filter a little dirty). Do you think might cause the maintainance light to came on? Any of you guys encounter this dilema? I will change my oil right now will see what will happen..

 

I think it automatically comes on at certain mileage intervals like 7,500. I also think that it tells you in the manual how to reset it. Something about turning the ignition switch on and off 3 times? Of course, I may be all wrong, but I thought I read that somewhere.

 

Are you saying that your maintainance light is now on all the time? If that is the case, it probably wasn't reset when you changed your oil, and it now thinks no maintainance has been done for 7,500 miles. At any rate, it's time for your 7,500 checkup (self or shop) and don't forget to document the procedure and reset the light.

 

I didn't reset the light, and i dont know how to. Do you guys know how to reset it??

 

you hold down the two odometer buttons and then start the car. it says it in the manual too

I knew there was some way to reset it! :p

 

You gotta hold the damn button down for like 20 seconds though. Hold it down before you start the car, keep it held down, and hold it down until the light goes off.

Easy! Works on all Hondas the same way.
