made my decision-not modding anymore

i've come to the conclusion, i'm done modding my car. I've wasted enough money on it and its time to save up so i can either buy my m3, z06, or anniversary yellow and black trans am....or my 24' baja. Its rough i know, but thats why i'm selling my rims and my kit, so if anyone wants them i'll take what i can get. Plus i wanna move outta my house.
On the other hand I wanna put the extra 6-7k into to finish it off, but its also a daily driver. I figured if i do the kit and the supercharger i'll be done, then just some minor cosmetics, fix some dings and scratches and shit. I dunno i'm torn, any suggestions.

Well, let's see. You have an '03. Maybe you should keep what you have because you'll be modding up anything new that you get. Stay with what you have and you'll be that much ahead of the game. I don't know if I would even bother with fixing the dings because you're in NY. They'll beat the shit out of it anyway. Does this make sense or am I rambling on? Good luck on your choice.

I think my decision is made..

After seeing this dissapointing post,

I think I will definately buy a BMW over an Acura CL-S. I mean it really sums up what my whole intentions are. Thanks for this post.. I'm glad its not me.. with all the MODs and still not satisfied. Its obvious from this forum that CL drivers arn't satisfied consumers.. You don't see that much on the BMW forum.

Heh, go away troll............... :sqntfawk: Great how you draw conclusions from one bad post. The majority of people on this board are VERY happy with their CLs. I love my CL.

Rob,
Save your money. Wait till you have a house and are settled to buy the M3 or z06. If you want something fast.....build yourself a turbo civic. You will have car that will run in the 12's for 7k.

What I see on the BMW boards is a bunch of guys buying M3 steering wheels, M3 rims, M3 kits, M3 badging, and M3 shifters . BMW guys w/ 3 series are just a bunch of guys wanting to be the M3's. The BMW mods are pretty linear to what we are offered. They have ALOT more options but it comes down to either alot of cheap mods or blow the cash on a supercharger. I have found that if you want a car you can HEAVILY tune and make sick fast go get an IS300 and drop 15K. Either that or put the 15K down on the M3 and have the BMW pinash to go with the speed.

It is just human nature never to be satisifed with what you got. You always want better. It's the same way here at the "forum." These are great cars and if I had it to do over again, I would still buy my 2 - 2003's.

If insurance was not seven hundred and fifty a month for one I'd rock it

Tri-State area car insurance can eat a dick.

I love my Auto CLS!! For daily driving that is. I'm saving my money on a S2K, so I can mod that and hopefully do some autoX and drag racing with it..

.. "you don't read much.."

Actually Santa Claus,

I have read a TON on this forum. You obviously don't read much. All I see are COMPLAINTS on this forum .. "I can't do this..or that".. "no companies make aftermarket parts for our CL's..". Its also FUNNY how their is a TRANSMISSION FAILURE message board on this forum!! What other CAR has a TRANSMISSION FAILURE board on their forum?? And by the way.. I have seen MANY more Type-S logoes but on regular cars than M3's....HONDAs especially...If you have MONEY to buy a BMW.. you most likely have enough to buy an M3.. therefore you see less actuall wrong-badging on BMW's..

i love my car. And if i get an m3 or a z06 i still wont be satisfied, why???? because i'm a speed nut. I wont be satisfied until i'm running the quarter mile in 10 seconds street legally WITH A BRIGHT GREEN ECLIPSE with NOS! heheh. And i'll be getting these cars in about a year and half-2 years of saving up. This isn't instant, but like i said how much money can you put into a daily driver? i've already spent about 10k on this car between performance mods, changing my system 3 times, 2 sets of rims, tires, etc etc etc

its even funnier coming from an audi a4 owner
From an ex-a4 owner to a current a4 owner, dont open your mouth, your car is one of the slowest on the road. The only thing i miss on my audi(other than the red dash lighting) is the fun factor on the snow, other than that the car sucks. My turbo siezed. the car sucks, blow it up

Dude, that's F'in CRAZY!!! Mines' $300 a month with a 2000 Xterra for me and my wife in the New Haven area!!! Holly shit, what have you done in the past!?! LOL

Oh and Audi-dude, I think 90% of us are more than happy with this car. Compared to most cars out there for the same price stock, you just can't beat it. So be it that Honda took a hit with their trannies. They repaired mine like it was any other part on the car, I'm completely satisfied. Go to any owners forum and every little detail, good or bad, is going to be magnified. That's the whole point of a forum. We don't just sit around going, "My car is GOOD", "My car sucks". NO, we discuss in detail.

And it's also human nature to focus on the bad than the good. That's just fact so of course you're going to see more of that.

And yet the M3 is still a rather desirable car (at least it is to me).

And I very much like my CLS, yet gripe about things that could be improved.

The Acura TLS forum doesn't have a "tranny failure/problems" forum ... so, using similar but reverse logic, the TLS must have a much lower transmission failure rate and/or be "trouble free".

IMO, the only constant on "car forums" is the chaotic tide of whining vs. praising of the vehicles and their issues..

We're always wanting bigger and better things, me included. But right now, all I can do with a Lamborghini is spell it! And as far as "fake M3's", there are alot. I have never seen a fake type-S either. And just because you can afford a BMW doesn't mean you can afford an M3 (27K bottom line vs. near 60K). If that's the case then I'll be getting one. Oh, and A4's suck, change the letter and it's alot better.

so in the thread title you said you've made your decision.

then you ask us our opinion

sounds to me like no matter what you have, you will want something better.

personally, i'm satisfied w/ modding my cl for now, i have a set of goals for it that i plan to accomplish, and i'm not looking past that yet.

A4s can be made to go fast but it takes a lot of money to make them as fast as a CLS. In order to make that car faster than a CLS you need at least a turbo upgrade which costs just as much as the CT supercharger (3500-4000). Sure you can up the boost of the stock turbos but how long will that last you? A simple APR chip will only get you to about 215 horses and more importantly only a mid to high 15 quarter mile. As far as handling, there is plenty of stuff out there for the CLS to make it a pretty good handling car.

I love the S4s but I heard that they were having some issues with Turbos blowing. My point is the mr Audi2003lemans is that for someone who likes pointing out the flaws in the CLS you can take a good hard look at your car company as well. As others have mentioned, most car companies have issues of their own and not all cars have the aftermarket support that Eclipses and Civics do.

If you are leaning more toward the pony car (Trans - Am) check out Fords answer 390HP w/ 390 ft lbs of torque 2003 Cobra. They actually went about 10 HP conservative on the HP because of that 1999 discrepancy. Anyway.......

Rob G instead of spending the money and getting a M3 which everyone that has one will be able to compete with u. Supercharge the CL-S you already have the headers and the rest of the go fast mods. In my opinion it is so fucking cool to go to the drags and give a M3 or Z06 a run for their money and not only that but u breaking the 14 sec. dipping into the 13.5-13.7 1/4 if not faster is probably the fastest CL in this forum. Think of the recognition bro M3 are nice when ur older and ur sick of modding and just want a fast great handling car....dude don't lose focus.

Peace and Im out.
