Is this site getting massive exposure some where or at the manuals just selling like hot cakes?? If so, then ACURA DO NOT STOP MAKING THEM BECAUSE I WANT TO BUY ONE IN A COUPLE OF MONTHS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!

You had better hurry up and buy yours soon, because word on the street is that the CL might be dead when the new TL hits the showrooms.

 

I dunno... I just think the people showing up here with 6MTs are just people who have been lurking around here (for the most part). I'd wager that sales will be even worse than in previous months.

I hope that's NOT the case, but I suspect it will be.

 

Yeah but those are still new car sales. I don't remember this many new people joining saying hey i just bought an '03 CLS 5EAT.

I'm hoping it's not the case. Otherwise, I just hope that they really make this new TLS design a good one because i might have to buy the accord coupe w/ navi, leather and a 6MT. They better put a stick, better seats and more power in the TLS.

I had never heard of this web site until I bought my car 2 weeks ago. I would not have purchased the automatic CL-S.

im sorry u think so...the sportshift/tiptronic/manumatic is the most soul u will ever see in an auto, and it's got plenty of soul for me :P

Sure ATXs have a soul. It just happens to be somewhat limp-wristed, slushy, and about 15% less horsepower at the "soles". :P

I too wouldn't have purchased a CLS without an MTX. I drove them for the last 25 years because my wife and I often shared cars.

But enough of this jousting. I'm at peace because I can smugly drive my 6-speed.

why do people see the need to make stupid remarks. to say auto's have no soul, that is being disrespectful to 98% of the enthusiests on these forums. there is no reason for it.

 

Come to Sacramento, California and take a drive with me and the other Sacto guys!!!! Not only will you NOT be able to keep up with our AUTO's, you will see just how much soul they have!!!! Not only do our AUTO's have soul, they have so much soul, the devil tries to go driving with us!!!! We don't let him come along though, because he can't keep up!!!!!!!

I had a first gen cl. As soon as the new CL and type-S came out I hastily traded in my less than a year old car. I lost a lot of money, but I needed the new car. So I bought the gold type-S, and loved it. I used it for work and for play. I used the electronic shifter all the time. I was totally happy. Then came the 6 speed. At first, I swore it off and said to everyone that I just couldn't see myself driving manual everyday. But I started buying parts for my car. I realized that if I was going to spend a lot of money, and was actually going to race my car I should switch before its too late. So again i lost money. But it was worth it!!!
I have been checking out this site for a long time, reading your posts and gathering info. But I didn't register because I didn't really have anything to say, untill now.
So I will be here often and I'm looking forward to reading your replies, whether it be serious or comical, Hopefully we can all learn something from each other.

I welcome the newbies and I don't take offense to the comments about the 6 speed. I do miss shifting from time to time, but when I'm balls deep in traffic, I thank god that my left leg is relaxing!!!! Welcome to all the new guys....I think it's great that there is a newfound excitement over the CL again....it's a great car and if enough people get one, maybe Acura will get its head out of its ass and continue to make it!!!

 

Ugh i know!!!! If i part with the car i PROMISE i will sell them!

 

If it would be an auto or manual, they are still awesome cars... I give you guys alot of credit that put endless hours of heart and SOUL into your cars... You really make them a cut above the rest. Now regardless if you got an auto or manual.. NEVER EVER FORGET, there is always someone out there that will stomp you a new mud hole at the track.... So lets all put our ideas together and quit trying to go against the grain... If you wanna trash talk, save it for the meets, so the person can hear you say it to their face. Then after your done pissing vinegar and spitting fire I will pass out some business cards and take a few beat down yard apes back to the grave yard to REST IN PEACE...
