M5 Lip from CCC.net- Plus- Aerodynamics?

Finally got my M5 replica lip mounted, after first getting the wrong part from CCC.net (they were really good accepting the return and shipping the correct part).

Then when I began painting the new part- more problems- bulges, air bubbles under the surface, tool repair seam lines, and poor surface finish in spots.

Advice to the impatient- either buy the OEM BMW lip, or have the replica painted by a pro, or both. It took me over a week of after-work time spraying primer, using filler, wet sanding, clear coating, etc. to get a decent finish.

I don't think this was CCC.net's problem- I think their supplier of the replica lip has either worn out the mold or did not follow correct processing parameters while molding. The air bubbles were the worst- you have to cut them out and fill with glazing. If you try to sand them they just compress and spring back.

Does anyone have any data on the CL's aerodynamics with bare trunk, standard wing, and then with a lip spoiler? Any of you guys feel the rear beginning to lift at top speed on the tracks??

I doubt any of the spoilers make any difference on the CL's aerodynamics. Most spoilers out there are purely for looks.

I love the look of the M5 spoiler, might be doing it myself soon. Get some pics up of your paint job.

I have mine still. I am having my paint guy professionally paint and install.

The lip spoiler on the Accord Hybrid does lower the drag... not by much tho.

Aerodynamics will only start to come into play when you reach high speeds. Spoilers on this car are for show only.
