going home on the 10 freeway west i'm cruisin along @ about 75-80 when a newer grey m3 comes boomin up pretty quick blinkin his brights at me, so when he gets almost parrallel i drop it into fourth and step on it, we were neck in neck for a sec @ about 110 then i pull (maybe cuz he wanted me to) he drops behind me gives another blink and gets in the lane to my left and floors it as i do the same and he FLIES by me with ease, he zoomed off and i blinked my hi beams to see if he would wait for one more but no go.... fun stuff, my friend in the car w/ me said whoa was that really 120 we were just going? to which i replied, yea, feels good huh?

If it was the E46 i think he was just playing with ya.

I was driving with a new silver E46 M3 the other day with a huge, kinda stupid looking wing, and a plate that said "YBE2ND" I thought it was great.

 

yea it was an m3 just like that but silver, I didnt see the badges but i saw the gill looking things on the side. My car is stock, i was going 80 and dropped it in 4th (should i have dropped it in 3rd? isnt 80 a little fast to drop it to 3rd?) and yes i think he was probably just playin with me but it was a helluva lot of fun

 

3rd gear @ 80 mph is a sweet spot for a cl-s. puts you right in the meat of the powerband.

anything in 4th gear is pretty pathetic, especially in a stock car.

I BELIEVE 3rd gear goes up to like 110+ ? So yeah, if you dropped it into 4th @ 80 you didn't have much power
