M3 Story

I was back in town for 1 day and ran into an 04 M3. I see him hauling ass and he gets stuck behind me and this other guy next to me. He's looking for a way to get by and i was in the mood to run him so i speed up to 65 so that he can pass the slow guy next to me.
As soon as he turns into the other guys lane, he guns it. He was about 2-3 cars behind me. I downshifted to 3rd when he was a car and a half behind. He had some momentum but he couldnt pull anymore than 1/2 car. We went all the way to 115-120, he stayed 1 car behind and couldnt pull one bit.
We were both shocked as i had no idea it was an M3 (i thought it was a regular 3 series at first so i was pissed when he kept up), and he had no idea how the hell i was keeping up the whole way!
He rolled up next to me later on and gave me the weirdest look.
We ran one more time but he jumped the gun extra early, still i pulled back 1 car length and kept it there.

He had 2 passengers, all really skinny teenagers. I was alone but had just filled up, and was carrying a 20 inch tv in the back along with some other random little things.
ONe last thing i forgot to mention, it was a coupe, so if it had been a convertible m3 i would have pulled on him more everytime.

I would say "nice kill," but you didn't win. Anyways good stuff, your car is progressing, all you need now is IC, more boost, and an e-manage and your good to GOOO...

I've seen power3dfx's car and it is a complete beauty. Sleeper like you wouldn't imagine. The H&R OE springs really give it a stock-ish look but if you know your CLs & TLs, you know his car is packing a lotta punch under the hood.

I'm actually somewhat surprised that you didn't pull on that M3. In any case, rockin car

THe way the race was setup, i actually did well. He had an earlier start than i did, i ran an M5 the same exact way, but the M5 pulled and edged me out in the end, although very slowly.
THe second one we did, he was stopped at the light, I was going about 5 mph and was still behind him when he punched it. Since 5-60 times are usually almost 1/2 second slower, i actually did pretty good and probably would have no trouble taking him out.
I couldnt get anymore runs out of him cuz he just kept speeding off, he would basically hit 120+ every chance he got!

I agree. My car underperforms when I'm running 92 straight up. I KNOW I'm getting more power with some 101 mixed in the tank.

Haha, I didn't even pay attention to those facts...

Pretty dope that you can take an M3 and hang with an M5... and still look almost stock Keep rockin it, John.

the looking stock part has its benefits and downsides.
the plus is that i really have to try and get attention from the police. its just another family car to the cops, unless i am really doing something that deserves attention.
the downside is that i dont get anyone trying to run. i basically have to instigate every run.
the m5 and m3, they were already running other people or they were messing around to begin with (so i got lucky!). after my experiences, i can definately say an m5 is faster than an m3. the m5 is like our cars, it shines even more at higher speeds. the m3 can usually get better launches due to smg, but the power difference is apparent at higher speeds. i dont think an m3 will ever be able to pull on my setup at any speed above 20. an m5 however, thats another story.

i forgot to mention, the m5 was not stock. it had some exhaust and blacked out rims. couldnt tell what else it had. i didnt post that story though since i though i would get flamed and no one would believe me. ah screw it, ill post that one too!
