LSD

Does anyone make an LSD for the 2001 CL? I checked Quaife's website and they don't make one yet. I loved having one in my ITR. I noticed that it is an option on the IS300. If an LSD was available, would any of you guys buy one?

when one wheel breaks loose, the other wheel starts to spin to gain traction

I thought LSD were only for Rear wheel dricve cars. That is the next mod that I am looking for after the SR HFI-2 and TRD suspension.

Put simply, an LSD transfers torque to the drive wheel with the most grip. It improves acceleration and handling and reduces understeer in FWD cars. Most cars have open differentials which apply torque through the path of least resistance. So if one of your wheels is slipping, a lot of torque is lost. LSDs are mechanical, not electronic like VSA. VSA is only activiated when your car starts to lose control. An LSD helps prevent the loss of control in the first place.

Both FWD and RWD cars have differentials so both can benefit from an LSD. The differential on a FWD car is part of the transaxle.

ever been to the track, when those shitty integra's with big wings try and do a burnout, but only one wheel is spinning??? it is becuase , like us, they lack a limited slip. when you put on a limited slip, both wheels will turn in sync. i'd get one if they made one.

I forgot to mention that an LSD eliminates torque steer. I've owned a handful of FWD cars including a Ford Taurus SHO, a Honda Civic EX, a Ford Contour SE V6, and an Acura Integra Type R. One of the cool things about the ITR is you can floor it while making a turn when the ground is wet and there is no torque steer whatsoever.
