the other day my car was running fine, then i had to refill. I put in gas from a shady station and the car started shaking at startup and didnt want to stay on. The power is also dead

Same thing happened to me last week. Check engine light came on and called to take it in for service, but the light came off even before I got to the dealer. I was told it's the winter mix in the gas and since its been kinda warm in NY the fuel doesnt burn as good, but I am not too sure about that.

my cls6 does it too... it's quite subtle though... nothing to worry about on my part.
i'm kinda use to it but someone in my car the other day was wondering how come a car like this did that.

All I know it mine doesn't idle perfect, I think its the nature of this engine. However, the really ruff idleing were talking about is totally different. Meaning my engine has all but died, unless one foot on the gas, and one of the brake. After that "episode", it never did it again until recently. Like between winter and spring weather.......wierd.....And of course Acura looks at ya like where from another planet.......:P

I had a similar problem to this. I would come out of a store after shopping, start the car and it would idle rough and sometimes kill. It felt like an air/intake problem to me, so I decided to pop off the small metal cover on the intake.
The one side of the intake was nearly filled with carbon build up, and it looked like there was an oil/gas mix sitting in the bottom of the intake. So, I cleaned all the crap out and it ran so much better; no idle problems, and no low throttle bog (I hate this, especially).
That was about a week ago, and I started noticing a slight bog at low throttle again, so I just popped the cover off again and found the same damn carbon starting to form again.
Anyone know what's causing this oil and carbon to form??

my 03 auto cl-s does this every once in a while. havent noticed it much with the weather getting warmer, but i know when it was cold out, i would come rolling up to a stop and i could feel it shake a little. the idle at a stop is fine, but rolling a little bit before i stop, causes the shaking.
ive gotten no dummy lights, and this doesnt happen everyday. seems like maybe when i turn the heat on.
anyone have a good enough explanation, but im gonna take it into the dealer anyway.

hey mechauto, do you have a stock air box?? my friend, with an AV6, and i would have that problem. he has a short ram and i have a stock airbox. just wanted to know if it could be something else besides the carbon mixture.
oh, and i took it to the dealers and they thought i was talkin out of my ass! those lazy fucks.

My CL-S6 started bogging a little after headers/icebox install when I put a load on the engine. I turned the idle adjustment screw on the throttle body 3/4 of a turn counter-clockwise and the problem faded away.

hey typeSb00st,
I have a stock air box. Do you get the oil puddles or just the carbon buildup? I just put in a new PCV valve, so i'll check it again in a couple days to see if the oil stops puddling. I put some pictures below of the problems.

When I put a load on the engine (like turning the wheel) the RPMs would go too far down so the engine bogged a little--- I raised the idle a tad bit so when there is a load on the engine it doesn't go low enough for it to bog.

my car does that to some times at low idle. i even did a fuel injection on it just to make sure my injectors where clean but it still idles a lil ruff but i have heard bout the idle control valve or whatever , but i think its just the engine. but come to think of it i put some cheap gas in it too so i dunno maybe it is the gas

Hey Tosh,
My picture service was cancelled,sorry.
The oil was mainly puddling where the PCV valve comes into the intake. The carbon is building up on the right side of the intake(when you're looking at the engine). I brought it to the dealer. they said that both problems are "normal characteristics of these cars". I realize that a SMALL amount of carbon would be normal, but what I found was NOT. Unfortunately I had cleaned the excess carbon out, then brought it in DOH!!!. So, they thought the buildup in there was from 80,000 miles of driving. I told them it was a week's worth, but I guess they don't care!!
I would have to guess that the EGR valve must be sticking open or something, but they didn't want to take my suggestion and check it. I guess I'll buy a Helm's and do it myself. FUCK extended warranties!!!
