Low idle

For some reason...it seems as though my idle, especially in the morning on a cold start...not only fluctuates back and forth a little bit, but it idles a little below 750. The idle still fluctuates some even when the car is warmed up. And the idle still stays a little below 750. Any ideas?

John, you may want to clean out your throttle. Normally, in the morning, the idle needle fluctuates due to the cold engine. Now, with it warmed up, it should not.

Could it also possibly be that I need new spark plugs? I'm at like 65k miles...and I guess there's a 60k mile service which I didn't wanna pay $300 for. Could it be anything like that? Also the car takes a couple seconds to start up after holding the key in the igniter position.

The cranking problem is most likely the battery. Do you still have the stock one in there?

I could not see why you would need new spark plugs, most new vehicles can go 100K w/o new plugs. Then again, not most of us on this board drive like grandma's.......
