Love tap= calling insurance?!
Love tap= calling insurance?!
So today I was reaching for something in the back of my car, and my foot left the brake pedal, so i taped the guy in front of me. all there was was a little imprint from my bolt. and he wants to call insurance!!!! it was a IS250.
Does anyone know how they would fix this?

That should buff out. Either the guy in the IS is an idiot, or they're just being greedy. Get them to take it to a body shop, they'll tell you how much it'll cost to get it fixed, which shouldn't be too much I'd think.
Most insurance companies will pay because it's bad faith to deny claims unless fraud is involved. I can't really tell much from the photo but even if there is damage if its minimal your state should have a property damage threshold so if insurance does pay and its less than that threshold it won't count against you.

Same thing happened to me a few months back. Woman was smacking her kid and rolled into the back of my 2001 CL-S. Same type of damage. $767.00 to fix with new bumper cover and paint. I always use insurance because some people are not as trustworthy as you.

Good luck with whichever you choose.
More than likely you're going to be better off paying to fix it without dealing with your insurance company.
What I would do, is get a quote and if it's reasonable, pay the bill. If it's really high, let your insurance company deal with it. You don't need it to be on your record if it's not major damage.
I'll give you an example....I was driving home and some guy pulled out in traffic. When the cops got there he said I hit him from behind, and although I told the cops he pulled out into traffic and stopped short, there was nothing they could do. My insurance company paid the claim for about $1200. And my premiums were going to go up about $800 to $1000 a year because of the accident.

if the damage does not exceed my deductible, i would NEVER go through my insurance.
from the damage in the pic, it looks like it would buff right out...
