torque on a dyno, especially with an automatic, is driver/operator dependent. horsepower is the easy part. on my first dyno session, the owner let us drive the car and i couldnt get into the gas fast enough without down shifting into 3rd. subsequently, my numbers were around 230. the second time, at a different shop, the owner drove the car and was able to get the 260 something. at SRT, they are able to "lock" the car in 4th, and the numbers are around 270 or 280. 300 with a torque converter. but those are just spikes. after that, the curve normalizes. as far as the torqumasters, i am putting in my order right now, and we will see. and yes, i am somewhat modded with an intake, ecu, and exhaust

I didn't get to make that event, obviously, I do plan on going in October or November.

Are you heading down to Silver Dollar on the 29th?? I've already made arrangement to go down, actually going on Saturday and visiting a few other places down that way.

Thanks, I will be showing up in my '03 6-Speed CL-S and my father-in-law will be in his SC430, with our wives. We are actually going down on Saturday and staying in a B&B in Perry, GA. So we should be at the track bright and early...

So is this going to happen this weekend or what?


I don't even have an exhaust on my car, just intake, headers, and tires, and i've NEVER lost to a stock GS400.

Those things are boats off the line.

I'm glad we're making friends with these guys, and not foe's like the 330ci pricks.

The GS430 is a badass car, and I think it may have an upper hand from 50+, but like I said, I've NEVER lost to one.

first time for everything i can tell you this, and im not blowing smoke. off the line, the intake and exhaust make zero difference. its in the higher speeds, where you can feel the intake start to kick in. i played around with a GS (stock except for K&N) owner on the way back from the dragon and we were dead even up to about 60 or so. hell once, we dead even til 100 or so. so if its just a short sprint, i wouldnt worry to much about it. just go out and have some fun and be safe.

I know I'm not STOCK I just thought we can have some fun! I would love to check out your ride and you can just check out mine! The only day I have free before my TC install and 90K service is Friday! There are a couple of us Lexus guys going to Capitol Raceway this Friday, we are gonna meet up at SRT in Beltsville. You should come!

On Saturday, Curry's is having a show and a Dyno day, bring the GS guys and and let's all meet. Mostly German cars though but all 540 owners I've met are very cool....keep in mind, most are 6spd guys.

That is the 340hp dud of the century. So is the M45, they need to advertise at 240hp. I seriously think the Type-S is as fast up to 80.

Has anyone driven one, with the 18s it rides smooth but handles like it's size, which is not good.

I got $20 bucks on GSpusher....

Hey NOVA are you running bigger Rims & Tires? Also what do you run in the 1/4mile, if you don't know you should come out to the Track this Friday. That will give you the chance to see where you are at with your Mods.

For those who said in "SS you can't hit the rev limiter"

This is in response to all of those who at first thought I was in SS and hit the rev limiter. Those people said, Its impossible...Well, I tried it last night and yes before having to shut down--I hit the rev limiter in SS in D1 and D2--don't know about D3, like I said-I had to shut down....

Just thought Id shut those people up who tried to poke wholes in my original story --but obviously, like I mentioned earlier--I gate shifted...but I just wanted to test this out

Hey mike - don't worry about it , we know what the S is capable of. I hit the rev-limiter in d1, d2 and d3 before. I did this all trying to mopp this guy in a 02 Golf. I was so determined to put a margin in between both of us that i wasn't paying attention to my engine revs or the tach. It's all good tho, no damage done (rev-limiter) and if they don't believe you, I do

Even a STOCK 6speed would get walked away from on the Hwy!!! Remember he said Hwy which is not 1/4 mile. The CL-S 6 speed does 0-130 in 31 sec. The GS400 does 0-130 in 25.7 sec. big big Difference!!! Like I said The GS400 is a Hwy Beast for Sure!!!! So lets stick to the 1/4.........Thanks

Never been to the track. althought I would love to go tommrow I got work from 2pm ~ 11PM. i have the heavy ass stock rims 26lbs w/ shitty michl vr rated tires.

I'm free all day saturday or sunday tho!

Its ok You have to work to play! I had that shift before so I know what you mean! I have not ran since my 20s got put on ,but I can tell you they weight 50lbs per wheel and tire reading from the package they came inn. I can also tell the difference too! Maybe we can hook up Saturday, I have to take the family out first and then I can go hang out

But what are the individual ratios?? Final drive is nice to compare one vehicle to another like vehicle with a different rear-end. But that is only a portion of the equation as the overall ratio is a factor of the final drive and the individual gears.

You can have a high final drive with low individual gears and still have aggressive gearing.
