Don't nobody go starting any fighting I would love to see what those cars can really do. I owned 2 Acura Legends 2dr coupe and 4dr, yes both were GS models. I also raced a STOCK CL-S and I pulled on it after 40+ and was spreading the gap the faster we went. I never said I would beat a Modded CL-S so don't think thats the case, But at the same time don't think you gonna SPANK no GS either even with I/H/E the GS is a Hwy BEAST and I can tell you once it gets going its GONE.

If you MAG race none of the Lexus's are faster than the CL-S 6 speed stock..

HMMMM, you know...I think NOVA will win. Having driven both GS and Nova's CLS I think I'll give NOVA the edge. NOVA's car is fast as shit off the line.

Both the GS and 540's are heavy and takes a bit to get going. I changed my Rear End Diff to solve that issue, but I'm modded so it doesn't count.

If this race happens, let me know I'll be there with my car too.

GS_400 PUSHER, let me warn you NOVA's car is pretty fucking fast...but you're right about the stock CLS.

im gonna say that florida is a bit to far for me, unless you live in miami..........and then who cares who wins or loses. its cool that this hasnt turned into a flame war and all. and yes, i do expect that we will have a significant increase in members at CL if the acura wins. the race is gonna be determined by a lot of things.....standing/rolling, distance, etc. we'll see. of course my (virtual) money is on pusher. but if anyone lives in atlanta, we can do the damn thang, too:P

shame on you typeR for trying to pull a fast one (no pun intended) i thought the race was for a CL with i/h/e against a GS. from the looks of this here you have quite a bit more (always do your homework boys and girls). but ill tell you what, if we can coordinate a time, ill meet up with you in valdosta for shits and giggles. with 310 hp (at the wheels i presume) i have no chance but i would like to see it.

yeah i read the thread. it seems really nice. on that dyno sheet, the numbers put you within about 10 - 15 hp of my GS4. of course the tq difference is greater. dont really know the specs of the CL as far as weight and gearing, but that might be a helluva race. i think i may need to get a TC and LSD, but we can go like it is. get me some more info on your 3.5, my interest is piqued.........

Actully bub, the GS 400 is 0-60 under 6 sec car at ANYTIME, ANYPLACE with a low of 5.7 tested in the US (I won't go there with the 5.6 taken overseas).

Some people talk like this ain't THE Japanese Sport/luxury sedan. It's the only sedan that can fock with the vaunted 540......

I ain't see here nobody here meet us at Deal's Gap to SLAY THE DRAGON!!! There was an awesome NSX, S2000 and 996 4WS with us as well.

 

i dont have the dyno sheet in front of me right now, but if'n i remember correctly max hp was right around 250 and max torque was around mid to high 260. torque peaked at 3500 and doesnt dip below 200 til about redline, which is 6400. max hp comes at around 6G. its time for my 60k tune up and im putting in torquemaster plugs. we had them dyno tested to see if their claims of increased HP/TQ were true and they gained 6hp and 15ft/lbs of torque. check out the results and dyno here let me know if you wanna get together in the near future......

Are you stock or modded? I assume modded since you pulled 250ish HP? I assume that stock GS pull anywhere from 230s to 240? I'm surprised your tourque was so low though. I guess I'm just comparing these figures to the 540.

Maximized, Joe WILL RAPE any stock 5th Gen Maxima, even if the drive weighs 80 lbs. Having owned a 98 5spd SE, no way in hell it can beat even a stock CLS...sorry but that's just the way it is. Max is a great car, but kills me when I hear "my MAX with downpipes and exhaust beat a 540", let's get real here...you know some of the MAX guys claim that too.
