Looky What I Got

This came in the mail today...

This will be going in a CL6 this weekend, they're XS. I ordered OEM bolts, studs and gaskets. I'm wondering if I should replace the O2 sensors during the install since I have almost 100K on the odometer.

Reduced engine temps as a result of cooler headers...

They quoted me at $180 but after shipping to and from (i overnighted them to Jet Hot) it came out to about $250. I'm going to have the shop that installed them be creative to try and prevent any leaks at all the connecting points, cuz I don't want to have headache's w/ them further down the road.

I had my headers coated last year by Jet Hot, and they still look perfect... Shiny and everything after almost a year of use.

The best part is you can still touch the headers after driving the car, and the header is cool to the touch under some circumstances.

Congrats... And enjoy!!

I recently posed the question about excessive heat and whether or not to use thermal wrap on the headers. I can't find the thread, but If I recall correctly, I was told that putting the thermal wrap on the header would actually be detrimental. Wouldn't this be the same thing? Not allowing the header to dissipate heat because of the coating could warp the headers over time right?

The coating actually helps prevent them from getting heat soaked in the first place, so dissipation of heat shouldn't be an issue on headers that resist heat soaking. I think the coating I got has a threshold of 1400 degrees.
