Was lookn On Ebay at Carbon Fiber
OK so i have come to the conclusion that i want to drop weight on my car since its a Carnival Cruise Ship when it comes to size(compared to a RSX and a civic and an S2K)
so i was look at that neq guy whos getn a CL-6, i saw the carbon fiber interior pieces and i was like
..u know what i mean.
so i went to the #1 seller of sh*t u dont need......EBAY!!!
ok so i found a trunk http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/00-01...Q5fAccessories
and then i ran across this a carbon fiber engine cover to relpace the all plastic engine bay we all have.... looks sweet.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-1...Q5fAccessories
so where can i find a carbon fiber hood, trunk, and what not for the best price and it actually fit right and tight?

I think there is a CF hood for sale in the BM (Civicdriver). Replacing the front seats with light weight seats would save some weight too. Back seats arent super heavy. Also, I have a Braille 11.5 lb battery and it's easily 25-30 lbs lighter than the stock and has plenty of starting power so far and runs about $150.
I cant give up the seats........ i like my seat heaters and 7 way power.... i will give up my hood trunk and gas door...lol...(gas door was a joke) i need a the battery for the system(its just an 8") so but ya im not talkn bout dropn my car to 1000lbs just alittle more so its reasonable
Hood, Trunk, rims, battery will save the most weight. Interior pieces obviously won't save you any. This car is much bigger than the rsx and civic so it will never ever be close to that weight.
Hood and trunk wont save you much at all. it is not worth it unless you are gonna go full out and gut the interior. No point going from 3600 down to 3550. Relocating battery to trunk is a good idea tho. Wish my cl was right under 3k but youd have to remove seats spare tire and more.
Doing the interior plastics and the engine cover is worthless.
I have the hood for sale, but someone is interested in it right now. I also have the trunk for sale (not listed yet though).
The hood and trunk together will save you about 35lbs.
You will not be able to drop the weight of the car down to 2700lbs (S2k and RSX weight) unless youre willing to lose some creature comforts, like seats, door panels, radio, AC, sounds deadening. A new exhaust will save weight, as will a new brake setup. Headers will definately save you a couple pounds because the stock are cast iron. Remove the sunroof and put a CF inlay in there will save you around 15lbs, and thats weight up top. Remove the power window motors and pull all glass out and replace it with lexan. Id pull the stock fuel tank out and put in an aluminum 5 gallon fuel cell. Remove the bumper bars under the bumper covers, those are heavy as hell, but if you crash theres going to be frame damage. Pull out the windshield washer resevoir, the wipers and motor. Ditch the power steering. And replace the battery with a much smaller unit. Dont forget the wheels. You can find 17s as light as 15lbs.
And even that isnt garanteed to get you to 2700lbs.

taking weight off anything that rotates is where it really counts.
brakes, rotors, rims, knife edged crank (but that is going far).
just bought the cf gas door thing. saw it and imediatly bought it. should go well with my cf hood/ trunk/ cf m5 spoiler/ custom cf interior pieces

^vis is quality stuff. have one of their hoods on my car and love it. some trimming and aligning was necessary but thats what u have to do with almost any aftermarket replacement part.but so far the hood is doing great with the chicago weather/ rock chips (has none
) and fitment.

None of that stuff will benefit you as far as weight reduction, they're more for looks than anything.
Civic, if you want to sell your trunk take it to the black market please

I'm not saying you don't lose weight, I have a CF hood, I'm just saying that for as heavy as CL's are, losing 15-20 lbs is nothing in the grand scheme of things. The OP said he wanted to lose some serious weight, so he was gonna get a trunk, hood and gas door, and maybe some accents, that isn't going to reduce much weight, you'd be better off yanking the spare tire and back seats out for that much weight. Unless you're doing a CF trunk, hood, fenders, bumpers, etc you're not benefitting from much weight reduction is the only point I was making, the CL is still a heavy ass boat.

anything helps. rear seats weight like 10lbs. almost nothing. then u have to worry about road noise inside the car.
oem hood struts wont have any negative effect on the hood. it will just be harder to push down. but they wont break or crack the hood in any way. get a QUALITY hood

I got a thought for you today when I was installing my new trunk seal.
After putting the new seal on .
The trunk will not close easily like it had before.
And even with the seal sitting all the way down.
I get a little trunk pop near the pass side back corner near the glass.
I took it out to check, then it shut perfect with no pop.
Maybe you should try pulling the seal for a test fit before selling.
Could be the seal being to thick for the CF's design.
Get an RSX or S2000. You'll dump a ton of money into stuff that won't really do much and, in the end, it'll still be a chubby ride.
