So, I recently purchased a 01 CL (not type S) with 105k miles on it. I just graduated college and was looking at cars in this price and just kind of fell in love with it when I saw it.

Just to give you an idea of what it looks like, it is black with chrome trim around the windows and chrome door handles. Every window is blacked out, and my tail lights are tinted. I had to buy new rims and tires so i picked out some black 18 inch rims with small chrome trim around the lip area and on the spokes (they remind me of spider webs when looked at from far away). It also came with a deck that is worth around $1,000.00, touch screen, ipod, dvd, nav system.

My friends have nicknamed it "the blacura" because it's black with blacked out windows and dark tail lights. I really like this car even though tint is going to get me pulled over with a fix it ticket eventually.

At first I was set to put exhaust, cai, and headers on it but now i'm not sure anymore. I mean, I didn't even get the type S and this car isn't really a fast car by any means. Would the exhaust upgrades be too much for a standard CL and just scream that i am trying too hard?

A new idea i got was to upgrade the speakers a bit and upgrade the lights.

I know ultimately it's my decision on where to go but i'm just looking for some friendly input from some other CL owners.

Since youre already saving for the inevitable transmission swap, suspension.

 

Yeah, that's something i haven't looked into yet. Good idea. I'm pretty happy with the Sound system to be honest, so I think i'll do the suspension and the lights.


I REALLY wanted to put a CAI and exhaust on but I just don't think it's worth it anymore. If I had a type S i would do it for sure.

 

CAI is good but exhaust wouldnt give you a big gain.
