Looking into a 2003 CL-S 6 Speed

i dont know if any of you guys here know me, but im on the TL forums but now i am selling the car. i really want a manual car so the CLs6 is definitely and option.

i just want to know if there are little things about this car that is wrong. like our TL's have bad transmission...horrible, and bad engine mounts as well. anything with the CL?

anything great about this car? i love the interior seating. the dash will just be the same though. to be honest though, i think the CL is not that nice a looking car as the TL. but ill see if the power will win me over

also, any other suggestions for a manual car around 10K. looking into luxury manual.

i might even look into financing a 2007 Subaru Legacy 2.5T S-AWD

thanks

The ClS6 is a fun car but if you can afford the Subaru I would get that. If you want something fast stock and a manual then yea the legacy is the better choice since its faster than the CL stock for stock, and even with both modded im sure that AWD still gonna give the CL hell.

My next manual car is gonna be RWD.

wussup Tam. I know you. Your that sexy import model from the last meet. LoL
The only thing wrong with the car is its still front wheel drive. Make sure its a type S with navi
As for the looks i thought the same thing. The rear end looks to round or something. But it will grow on you after a while.

With the exception of the tranny, it's the same as the 02-03 TL with the same little things that can go wrong. There are no tranny problems with the stick.

Wait a minute, LSD and no VSA, the CL S 6MT makes a driver drive.

I came from an auto to a 6 speed, and I'll tell you, the fun factor and power is so much more noticeable in the CL 6 speed. It adds a fun factor not found in any auto i've ever driven. However, you will really feel a need for more power since the 6 speed doesn't have such a weak tranny. I was hesitant to do any type of Forced industion on the auto due to the glass tranny. Also, like with the TL and CL auto, the suspension really needs to be worked, like springs, shocks sways, and really good tires / wheels. Otherwise, the dash is great, the seats are even better than in a TL, and the visibility is the best of any car I've driven. 2 doors are just pimp, and the car is really like a luxo ,touring coupe rather than a sport car, but it has the balls to go fast, ya know?
The only place to go from here is a used M3, G35, or a used NSX for that matter if you want to stay with acura and Honda. Maybe a 6 mt Accord, but still, won't have the luxury or power of the CL.
As fvor the legacy, Eh, the two cars just don't have the same personality, I think the Acura is more of a fun car to own, then again, i've never driven the Subaru.
Good luck!

PS, no real downsides except the suspension i mentioned and small stuff you woudl typically encounter in the TL.
Ever thought of the 2004+ TL with 6MT used?

I've had mine from new and am very satisfied. Decent power and ride; handling's OK; brakes need upgrade from stock depending on how you drive; stock mileage is 26-27 on the road. Mine has been absolutely bulletproof - 112K and zero problems.

hey thanks everybody for their comments and suggestions. you guys are really chill over here. looking forward to being here more.

man this car is way more tempting now after listening to you guys. STOP. haha jk

thanks for detailed reply ron, and i think the new TL's are just... bleh

and its weird with me about cars. i cant standing driving something everyone and their mom has. i mean, sure whatever car it is will be nice, but everyone sees it already but doesnt care. my modded TL was rare so that was good. got many eyes. i barely posted it one day and i got 3 replies with one buyer already. haha

buy yea, how do you guys feel about the CL? in terms of individuality and a sense of rareness.

ive seen a couple for 12k, no problem. i really want a white on black with navi. i love watching those dirt run off the panels every week. feels good =]

as for the navi, i can buy and install one for less than a 1k i guess.

For 12K, you're going to be looking at something with high mileage (over 75K miles).

And as for white on black w/ navi, that would be one out of 15 (well 14 'cause sly rascal isn't selling his), so you're probably going to have to buy a non-navi (one of 43) one and convert like you said...
