Question Looking to get a spoiler...

Which? The Lip or the OEM

I've found an OEM Spoiler off a wrecked CL same color as mine for $125, assuming it's in good condition, how hard will it be to install? I know I'll have to get some trunk springs for $12, but what else am I looking at here, install wise Drilling, Etc?

Where would I be able to get the installation guide for the factory spoiler from?

As far as this Lip spoiler, that's just stuck on w/ 3M tape correct?

Thanks Guys.

got to drill the holes and install the spring. at the dealer they use a template. maybe you can make one if you take it off the junked cl.

i have a lip spoiler and prefer it. also easy to install.

I have a aftermarket wing spoiler. It doesnt have a brake light and sits alittle closer to the trunk. I think it might be a 1st gen spoiler but looks fine. It is SSM but ill sell it to you for $75 or less if your willing to pay for shipping

I bought a genuine BMW lip spoiler from RonJon and paid an Acura tech buddy to put it on. I have heard the fake spoilers sometimes come unglued. I read for those just let them sit in the sun and warm up a bit so they bend easier.

I did a search for your information, but still I did not come up with a reasonable answer to MY question (not someone elses).

Sometimes I think the people who sit on this board all day *everyday end up causing more strife than actually giving sound information. I'm not referring to everyone just certain people, and it's sad because you guys probably know the most.

How about this for an answer!!!

I have the lip spoiler, I bought mine off ebay and it installed very easily (Just takes alot of patience and a very steady hand), use a highlighter to trace where you want it and then peel back the plastic and slowly stick it on... and it has not come unglued at all... IMO it looks really good when looking from behind the car... From the sides/front you can tell it's not a factory part, but overall still looks damn good.

For your OEM spoiler, the trunk springs are not necessary but will certainly aid you in lifting open your trunk, and keeping it open.

The install for a factory spoiler is quite easy, you just can't be afraid of drilling into your trunk. Go to Acura and see if you can find the template that will line up on the lines of the trunk and allow you to trace exactly where the holes need to be on each side. You should get some touch up paint too so after you drill the hole edges will not rust. Otherwise it's pretty self explanitory just needs to be bolted onto the trunk (and be carefull not to overtighten the bults and put some big dents in your trunk) Good luck!
