Hi guys I'm new here. I reside in Toronto ontario and am looking to buy a CL-s as a daily driver. Im not sure if this forum has an introduction thread but here's a little bit about me. I drive a 240sx (s14) as my summer car and have done quite a bit of work to it. I've always had a soft spot for a CL-s growing up. I have this one in mind and could possibly purchase it this weekend. The owner is a mechanic from brantford honda ontario and says the car has been kept mint. I did get a chance to drive it and I was satisfied with it. Anything else i should look for when I see the car again? cheers, all input will be greatly appreciated.

I would only buy a 6speed manual if i were you. Are you familiar with the auto trans problems? Especially as a daily driver i would not want unreliability. Even if the owner was a honda mechanic, that's not to say the trans couldn't go on you at any time.

Why is the car so cheap! Man that's like free compared to the 12.5 k I dropped on mine 5 years ago.

I would get the car scanned.

I see u have a CEL on the dash. U might wanna know what ur getting into before u purchase... That's just me at least.

Ask if trans has ever been done.

Check the trans fluid on the dip stick so see if its clean and pinkish.. And does not smell nasty and burnt.

The trans will go on this car... Especially since u like to drive kinda fast. U Just gotta except it.

I know the guy tho since u Are local... So if it happens I can save u a couple gs

 

Thanks for the info guys. as for the engine light, it stays on for 8-10 seconds in accessory which is when he snapped the pic ( lets hope so).

On a side note, I've done 2 TL transmissions in the past with a buddy. Its a days work but its worth it in the end.

gnuts, I dont have the PM feature as im still a "noob" on the board. But yes what lip kit is that? I like.,.

 

in short it's a TL kit modified to fit. Required cutting the front and rear lips into 3 pieces and filling gaps. The sides were cut in half to shorten them.

There were very few kits made for this car most of which are discontinued.
