Look!!! Upgraded Torque Convertors For Our Cars!!! (not Level 10!)

Hey...

I've been surfing the net and landed on this
UPGRADED TC

What do you guys think? This company (i know u guys hate tuning magazines) but have been featured in a few and received favorable comments...

I reviewed their site and its pretty decent and I called them up and spoke to this man named MARK...he told me that we need to give them our stock TC's and that they modify those so that the TCs can now handle more HP....He says he customizes them to the owners request and that it takes abt 2-3 days after they are received from the owner

The warranty is 1year/12,000 miles on the upgraded TC....

He says that the kit goes for $1000 but I pointed something out and he said it would be $700 for me...I know some of u guys want 2 modify the car and who knows? maybe this maybe the way 2 go...Thus, I'd like someone 2 look into this i.e. do more research and let us know whats going on

p.s. he says that they will work on 98-02 accord v6s, and the CL-S and TL-S

Supposedly JMO japan (their Japanese subsidiary) makes kit 4
veilside modified cars and other japanese companies

P>S> The $700 includes modified TC and their tranny cooler

The upgrade in the torque converter will not help the tranny problems. Those problems are in clutch packs and bearings. I have never seen a torque converter go bad. Lots of trannys though.

I'd love to do a torque converter if it weren't for the tranny issue.

That said, I'd love to see a tranny offering at some point.

A better torque converter and tranny could add 20hp or more at the wheels.

Keep the number around... maybe some other folks will get around to supplying a whole set of replacement parts for the rest of the tranny...

As it stands, I'm not too sure that just replacing the torque converter would help the rest of the slushbox to stay together...

Good idea,

and slushbox is what we used to call the old GM 2-speed Powerglides.

Exactly, they're full of it. I'm sure the clutch packs and bearings are a problem, the thing is, I'm sure that there's many other problems with our trannies. They just suck ass overall.

They've changed their story so many times that they can get jobs as fairytale writers when their "current" positions are terminated...

However, I'm sure that one or more outfits could get into the box and upgrade the clutch disks/plates and bearings with other/better parts; modify/change the TQ converter; and re-valve and alter the valve bodies.

At this point, I don't know too many people that want to experiments with a weak-ass (but warranted) transmission.

Just 'cause Acura/Honda doesn't want to "beef-up" (or fess-up) doesn't mean that an ingenious person/company will be prevented from turning it into something with more reliability and power capacity.

IMO, Honda/Acura is going to do as little as possible and just let time take care of itself. The “bean counters” have already figured out every angle and the warranty extension is just some lube to help them "wiggle out" of the "current problems"...
