loaner by chance??...

if i go to acura with my messed up tranny and i bitch and complain enough, will they give me a loaner car?? honda dealer already said they wouldn't... car only has 32k on it but isnt covered under extended warranty because its one of those 03's that they supposedly fixed the problem on, but obviously didn't...i can't be out of a car for however long it takes to fix, i have to go to work, school, gf, etc...

Even if it's not, if the tranny did go it should still be covered till 100K miles. And if it's not in the vin range for 03's call Acura & complain.

not at all...

My car is in that small vin# range (late '03) that isn't supposed to have this problem... I don't understand why that since 2001 they couldn't correct this problem...My car's check engine light remains on... the VSA light comes on sometimes, the side airbag light flashes sometimes, and occasionally at low acceleration the tranny revs to about 5000 rpms and the car wont accelerate any further... i knew with 260 hp with 32k for $17k there had to be a catch...

I would just take it in to an Acura dealer. If it's a late 03 & your at 32K miles the factory warranty should cover it. There should be no problem here.
4 year/50K from in service date
For the loaner. it varies with the dealer. Some will give 1 no problem, some require you make an appointment, some will give you a cheap rental & pick up the $$ for it.

Honda may not give you a loaner but the acura dealer will with any trans warranty work.

be assertive, but professional and they will treat you right. Those who walk in screaming/threating acting like a fool will be treated the same.......just some good ole' advice from an ole' timer.....

Is that true? I thought the only way the warranty is voided is if there is a salvage title on the car.

WTF? I've taken the car to other acura dealers, not even for warranty work, and they've always given loaners. the only time I got any crap was when I took the car to the purchasing dealer and they said 'you needed to let us know you needed a loaner when you made the appointment'. I rescheduled.

It depends on the dealership. They do not HAVE to give you a loaner for anything. It is a courtesy thing. It's not required.

, but when you're dealing with 'near luxury' vehicles it's (or should be) pretty much standard of care these days. if you want to retain customer loyalty you need to make customers not feel like POSs. that's why I won't be buying any more acuras.

I think some may argue that "near luxary" cars should not have a glass tranny, but it happens.

Personally, I have not had anything but good things to say about the service I got from the dealership I took my CL too. I would 100% buy another Acura at some point.

you're right about the tranny, but even more $$ cars than ours aren't immune. my father's had a Q45, an A6 4.2 and now a 330xi that have had more stuff break on them than the CLs have a reputation for.

glad you had a cool dealer. where in NJ? I was in Montclair for 6 years...

They gave me a '06 TSX loaner when my tranny failed at 99,825 miles, so they should with you. Let us know what happened

The best loaner I got was a 2006 TSX with less than 250 miles on it. It's the closest I will ever come to a new car.

I've only had a few Loaners....
POS cavalier -rented loaner when I had my Chrysler 300M
02 TL - given by dealer when my old 6mt had a bent valve
02 RSX -given by dealer when my old 02 CLS tore the shift cable from wrong sway bar install.
03 Altima -rented loaner when old 6MT had the valves adjusted.
I don't use dealers service depts. much.

This is not true unless the car is salvaged or likewise. Half the pre-owned vehicles on any dealer's lot are from an auction. It doesn't matter where you bought the car. Well, I guess unless it's out of the country.

They also won't honor the warranty if you brought one from U.S, to CN, back to U.S... Like the Z06 dude did.

Does anyone know the rules on getting a loaner. My friend try to get one one time and they said you have to be at least 25. Is that true?

There are no set rules. Each dealer is different.

But I have been at dealers where it was 25+ for a loaner. It's all about insurance & liability.
