Little switch next to the glove box

I just opened my glove box and noticed a little switch to the of the glovebox, with a little icon that signifies it having some relation to the trunk. What the heck is it?

Sorry you're mistaken, it actually activates RES.

That's the valet switch for the trunk. If you throw that switch, it disables the trunk opening button on the door. The theory is, you throw the switch, then lock your glovebox and seat passthrough in the back with your master key. Then, when you give the punk valet your valet key (the grey one), all he can do is unlock and lock doors and start the car. No access to glovebox or trunk. Just remember not to have your valet key on your key fob as I believe the trunk release will still work on that even if the switch in the glovebox is thrown.

Dude,

You must have a lazy salesperson at the dealership you bought your car at. They should have gone over these things, and given you a owners manual for the car.

Yah, they were pretty lazy, but they gave us the best deal we could find. They never went over the features with me until we actually went back to pick it up when it was delivered, and that was for all about 2 seconds, while my dad was finishing up the financing. They also forgot to install protection package, had to go back to get them to finish it. I'm finding new things all the time (gotta love those Honda engineers sometimes). BTW, anyone got any stories to tell about the service at Acura of Seattle @ Tukwila? Well, thanks all.

Jai

Very pleased with service there, the service is the main reason I bought the CLS at Tukwila. Jason is the guy I have delt with, he seems to know what he is talking about.

I hope your experience has been as pleasant as mine has been.

My master switch is always off!!! If someone breaks your window they can just reach down and pop your trunk! I have way too much stuff in my trunk. It seems secure because there is no key hole, So i feel pretty comfortable leaving stuff in there. Anyone have any experience with break ins???

It disables the trunk release on your driver side door so that if someone presses the trunk release, the trunk won't release. Useful how? Well if you got something valuable in the car and use valet services, you pop that switch and lock your glove and then no one can get to your trunk.
