Listen to this from Acura dealer today...
I finally went to the Acura dealer today and had a tech drive my car and he agreed that I need a new tranny. Only 23,800 miles in !!! It will come in next week and be installed shortly after. They said my car is ok to drive in the meantime.
Here is the funny thing....he said that Acura was telling them that it was a bering in the diferential and that it wasn't trannies. Now that most of the issues are trannies Acura is shipping them out like they were free. He also said that every tranny replacement they have done comes with a new computer to be installed and fuel regulators as well. Does this mean that my CLS performace will now go down? He said new computer has altered shift points and reduced air/fuel mixture ratios? This sucks.....
Oh well I only have her for another 12 months and then she is out!.

Until someone PROVES; i.e. can provide dynos with the "old" tranny and the "new" tranny, I'm withholding a de-tuning judgement. Mine feels just a strong as it did prior to the swap.

I just hope mine new one lasts 10k miles in the next 12 months or so. After that I am done with this car. Not that I didn't love it but I think it is time to move on. At 23k miles I am replacing a tranny?? That only means more problems at 80k miles. Possible G35 coupe customer coming up

this tranny problem still has obviously never been TRUELY resolved...sure, they now offer the 100k warranty, but what happens after that?? no moron would possibly want to keep an auto CL-S for more than 100k miles....its just not smart. that tranny is just a timebomb. always was and always will be. its too bad it had to be that way, it really tarnished the image of what the CL-S should have been. it reduced the overall respect for the car from ALOT of auto enthusiasts everywhere. its really too bad.

I totally agree jimcol711. When I bought the car I was so psyched to be in the luxury ballgame. Now I just feel like Acura isn't even close to a mercedes, bmw, lexus, audi level. They lost a little bit of respect in my standings

beleive it or not, my big truck has NOOOO rattles...thats something the CL-S could NEVER do for me. its a shame, but she was a rattle monster!!! this ram is quiet as fuck inside..something i always wished the CL-S was capable of

No rattles or tranny issues on my 2003 @ 10K miles.
Is there anyway to find out about the detuning rumour? Would Comptech have a clue?
I still can't believe that people still think that BMW, Mercedes, Audi et al haven't had their share of mechanical problems.

It is possible they are de-tuning the cars to prevent further failures (retard timing a bit under WOT shifts)... that would suck for you auto guys!
In fact, Acura DEFINATELY does this on the 6-speeds... when you immediately floor it (albeit you can reduce this by tricking the TPS), but its still there... AND I am sure this happens during hard shifting.
