Exclamation LIPPSTUH IS JERKING! 6-Speed

Okay, i've noticed a small jerk a week ago, but nothing to be alarmed about. i just kept my "eyes" out for any site of problems. today, i was crusing at 2300 rpm, gassing it about 8%, i wanted to speed up, gassed it at 75% and there was a 1 second lag, then it jerked like if the clutch didn't catch...

she's a 6 speed. is it my clutch? i have 35k on the car, oem clutch.

Nah, there is a hesitation that the 6 speeds have if you are at part throttle. It usally happens to mine if its not completely warmed up.

The clutch

this has been recent.. it was pretty noticible. even my little sister who is 12 said my car is driving weird....

i'm not sure what the definition of slipping is.. but to me it felt like a slip... gassed it, hesitated, clutch caught back on... btw i was in the same gear hence i didn shift when this happened if that makes sense.

If so that's pretty crazy because I have 104K miles on my stock clutch and it's just BARELY slipping, really feels pretty damn strong with the CDD removed.

It's only a slip if your RPM's were climbing & you were not going anywhere.

I've gotten the same thing on occasion on my 2 6mt's. No explanation.

AT's are usually slow on throatle response because it has to shift... BUT if it you're in 5th gear traveling steadily at 70mph or something, and it downshifts to 2nd gear then you have tranny problems.

it means your number is about to be called and you will soon be posting in the "my transmission took a crap" thread. could just be a normal hiccup. hell i had a 95 f150 that wouldn't shift if i was hard on the throttle. did that for 5 years and the tranny was still going.

I have a 6MT as well, and there have been a couple threads about this. Everytime my car gets to operating temperature, there is a hesitation...almost as if the car loses power for a half a second. Not clutch related obviously. As for slipping, I have almost 70K miles and it has never slipped. Fortunately, I know what a slipping clutch feels like and it's just as someone above described. If it's slipping just a little bit, you will feel it (1) Not pull as hard, (2) see your RPMs climb at a much faster ratio then your speed, and when you let off the gas they will drop back down to where they're supposed to be at the given speed in whatever gear you're in.

so is this normal or a problem? i was thinking misfiring would be one of the potential explanation.

thanks for all the responses.. drove the car briefly yesterday, didn't feel it again, maybe it's a 1 time thing.

Misfires would trigger check engine lights, or codes. So unless you have those they are not misfires.

Actually, now that I think about it.. I had my check engine light flashing a couple times while I was driving it hard, so it is possible mine could be misfires. I will check on my coil packs and plugs later today.

That is normal. When you break traction & the car can't grip the ECU will see a misfire & throw a light,(flashing) but it's not really a misfire. The lack of traction fools the ECU.

happened 3 times tonight... constantly at 2400 rpm on 5th gear. stepped on it and it jerked... like it didn't catch right... a few minutes later i see the check engine light light up... then 15 minutes later it's gone...

Scan it. Maybe a code is stored.

Clutches don't generate CE lights, so sounds like a dirty or bad sensor to me. Or a coil, or spark plug.
