heres the deal, some kid i know got a 2003 lincoln ls v8, i believe they upped the hp to 290 for 03 year, he wants to race me and hes talkin all this shit like hes gonna kill me, we meet up and hes like i aint got my car tonite but race my friends WS6. i'm like alright i'm down for any thing.

ws6 is an 2001 automatic t top with 20 inch chromes slowin it down

i was running the car hard to get the ecu to adjust before the race

1st run:
i get the jump on him at the line and he just doesnt even go, his excuse, lets switch lanes there too much gravel over here, hes full of shit

2nd run:
we both got on it at the same from a stop and i had 1/2 a car on him all the way to 70 mph, i start talkin shit to him cause he though he was the shit before the race, everyone watching the race on the side of the street was like damn, your car sounds soo fuckin sweet.

3rd run:
he left before me and i spun a little leaving me 1 car back all the way to 70

after beating the ws6 the guy in the lincoln ls is still talkin shit that he thinks he can beat my car, i'm like wtf r u serious.

Actually, the 2003 LS V8 has 280hp from a little ass 3.9L, but it still aint gonna touch low 14's.

@ the track the car gets faster and faster as the day goes on, like my first run could be a 14.6 w/ a 2.3 60', then later on go 14.2 and 14.3 with 2.2 60's, i dunno maybe your manual is different

Actually, a lot of new cars have "adaptive transmissions" that will change shift patterns and firmness with increased aggressive driving. From the car I've owned with it, I can notice the difference, but only after I reset the computer and drive hard. It doesn't seem to adjust after the first hundred miles or so after I reset it.

um....darrin..the car doesn't get faster as the day goes on, you just start to get better at the launch and the shifting, etc. Your engine runs hardest when its cold not hot and beaten on

I have raced the new 2003 Lincoln LS V8 in my new accord V6. I beat it by 2 cars to about 95mph. He had a half car to 30 in 1st and then I just started pulling slowly after that. Through second and third is where I had a significant advantage on him. They are very fast! I have injen intake and im riding on 18"s. He was stock. You should beat him if he is stock!

Ha, those things are tanks (3800 lbs.) Nice torque though (286 ft-lbs) They are only rated 6.42 sec 0-60, definitely peace-sign out the sunroof territory You would beat him easily. A guy at my work has one also and wants to race... but his transmission went out with only 800 miles on the thing, LOL Nice Ford I told him.

There are way too many LS1 driver's that can't drive their cars. Nice kill but there is no excuse for a WS6 to not not run at least a 13.5. auto or manual. Last time I went to englishtown, the slowest LS1 i saw ran a 13.7.....oh and it was my buddy's stock z28. crappy stock tires couldn't grip.

yea but his 20's really killed him off the line, giving me the advantage till about 75ish, i know how the ls1's are in 3rd gear, he prolly woulda passed me at about 85 or 90, cause his front bumper was at like my door handle most the way, but the place we race at is a short strip its good for like 0-80 runs, my brakes cant handle anything faster than that over there
