actually, i saw a video of one hitting a 2001 S Class, the S class crumpled, the smaller the car the more rigid, the larger the more it crumples - the smart car sort of hit the front, back end came off the ground, then it sort of bounced backward

The car has no current plans to come to america, the car they are thinking of bringing over is the A Class

smart would be not bringing this to the US . Running over one of these things in a Cadillac Escalade would feel like a speed bump im guessing...same with the mini cooper... fun to drive ala go kart style...but too damn small.

can't you read??

acura service just said it's a VERY strong car that won't crumple, it is pretty much a roll cage on wheels...
but the A class which is coming to America (maybe) has small crumple zones....

That is true about the A Class. But there are un-official plans to bring the Smart here as well.

hmm...since safety was mentioned..Crumple zones prevent you from stopping instantly if your car hits something. This is the little feature that prevents your heart from exploding etc after going from 60 to 0 in a split second. If this thing is 'bouncing' off other cars then it is most definitely not safe. Dale Earnharts car had no crumple zones; it wasn't designed to take a head on collision with an immobile object. So the roll cage safety concept is not always safer in certaqin situations. Check this out:

Hopefully the one coming to the US will have crumple zones as mentioned. Crumple zones + roll cage=
