HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEY everybody ,I got a chance to hop online today in Switserland and wanted to send greetings out to all of you .Yes the autobahn is is a bucketload load of fun and the BWM nav system saved me countless hours driving over roads barely wide enough to fit a motorbike never mind anything with 4 wheels .
Next week I am renting a Smart car which remotely resembles a phone booth with wheels but looks like a fun little shoebox to drive .

i posted a pic of the smart car last year when i was in austria. i think it had like 13 inch rims. and looked even smaller than a mini.

 

I hope you get to enjoy some wide open stretches so you can open it up . . . nothing like running all out on the Autobahn.

The Smart is about golfcart size. But very popular... Seen lots in Austria for instance

ok seriously it is a rush to hit the autobahn and flat out floor it without having to eyeball mirrors for a police reality check .But you do get tired fairly quickly in an all out assault on the pavement.
Some off the wall things things to consider
1 rest stops sell beer (every day of the week)
2 rest stops here sell really good food
3 BMW is not as fast as a well tuned ALFA ( i know this for fact)
4 BMW nav is nice but it is a head trip to have a sexy german female voice belt out orders about impending left turns
5 there are more street signs here than you can possibly imagine .
6 Porsches are also much faster (damn that 911 was fast)
7 there are streets in the Swiss alps that truly test your skills at guiding a normal sized car over a road more suited to the needs of a bycicle
8 some of these roads resemble spaghetti strewn over a map
9 LORD I AM HAVING FUN
10 will try to post pics when i get back i don.t have the ability from here I could use some help on this never done it before .

Be prepared to be extremely frustrated when you return. I took me (2) weeks to get used to A--HOLE drivers again after driving in Germany for (3) weeks.
