It would depend on the state. There is no such thing in florida.

dam that sucks, I dont see how they can apply it to people passing through the state who dont live there, it is a state law and i'm pretty sure it wouldn't apply. Therefore their whole arguement about not showing the state would be invalid. And what about all those bages and starts that police sell for hefty donations, they are not allowed to be on plates any more. And 200 dollars, you dont even get a warning first. Thats just fuckin bullshit.

Nothing on there about a front plate law. So mine stays off. I hate those plastic covers anyways...they look like shit to me. But that's me.

By the way...one of the Texas state reps who co-authored this bill (John Lindsay of Houston) is a champion of trying to get nuisance laws passed. He'll introduce all these stupid bills that have an impact on about 4 people in the state and then crow about all the work he's doing.

What a putz

Ok, guys. I got a ticket this morning. Went into a speed trap at 55 in 35. The cop cut me some slack and wrote 50 in 35. I know I was going faster. Anyway, he asked me "What happened to your front plate? It just fell off, right? Make sure you put it back up. The state is cracking down on the plate." Those cops asked me to show them the back-up camera, the 8" square sub. They like cars ...

So are you going to put the front plate back on? I'm contemplating it, but really, really hate the big ass plastic piece of crap fron license plater holder that the dealer sticks on the car.

I put it back on this morning the way Acura intended. I couldnt stand it for more than 2 min. It made the car looked stupid. I removed it and put the holder up side down. I used zip ties to secure the holder to the bumper. It still looks messed up but better than before. I know by doing so, my plate is still not legally mounted since the state specifies how low (or high) the front plate has to be. However, I think they will let it fly since most of them wouldnt remember the specification by heart.

Hey Johnny,
Please PM your number to me. My phone broke so I lost all the numbers.

yea, depends on county/city. Some it's still a fix it ticket, some it's a straight fine

I heard it is a straight fine of $200 in TX now. Not so sure about it though.
