lexus lights?
sorry about this question but I searched and couldn't find what I was looking for. The blinding yellow fog lights you see on the old lexus ES300's and some other models; do you get them from the dealer, junk cars, or what. do they need a completely different wiring harness. I gotta have em but i don't want to go on a wild goose chase any info will help. THANX!

I Already tried...And sorry to say it's not gonna happen...My girl works at Lexus and I've talked to them and it's a white bulb with a yellow projector lens..It's a totally different setup which would take some custom work($750 to be exact)...So I just spray painted the raod lamps yellow and put PIAA bulbs..so^ DAN was right buy a LEXUS....

Dude, you could've just bought the PIAA 19173 Ion Yellow bulbs for your factory road lamps. It looks exactly the same when you turn them on. $10 on ebay.

i'm guessing that the yellow bulbs, or any bulb placed in the road lamp housing will not have enough intensity to act as normal fog lights. i like the look of my PIAA hyper whites, but to me it's only cosmetic. maybe you can try to retrofit second gen TL fogs which use 9006 bulbs i believe. couple that with yellow bulbs and that may be a different solution, but at what cost who knows...

Both PIAA bulbs, wether white or yellow will give you the "look" of a fog light though it does not project light in the same manner. Any bigger/more powerfull bulb will more than likely melt the housing. In person, unless you were sitting behind the wheel switcing the roadlamps on and off with a separate switch, you'd never know the difference. Fog lights are a waste of time and $ unless you really feel you need the extra visibility. My $.02...

I'll see what I can do. I might have to resort to the stupid (but handy) phone cam. My charger for the digi cam broke or something. Damn thing won't even let me use it to power the cam much less charge the batt. Technology is only cool when it works right, but then again, I guess you aren't supposed to drop it on concrete! I'll try to get one tonight with it and see how it comes out. I'll let you know.

See... I told you the phone cam sucks! The only thing is, you can clearly se they emit light by the reflection on the ground. I'm telling you though. They are YELLOW. Not a little, not just a smidgin, but freakin YELLOW. You can tell when the car is coming at you from blocks.....
Sorry to even waste your time with that stupid pic.
Oh, wait! Here's a slightly better one. Still, no YELLOW justice though.
