I'm in no matter what the price...reasonable though. Even for as low as 5WHP...I want one!!!I'll help out any way I can w/ information from the dealer or what-not. Let's get this thing moving. Can someone contact the guy/company who produces/made the one for the 350z and see if we can make it worth his time and effort to get one done for us. Common guys...we can get test-pipes and ecu upgrades and uni-chips and guage pods and body-kits and just about every other part imaginable custom made and into production for us...WHY CAN'T WE DO THIS!!!

scalbert already tried and it didn't work.
if dougs original design really does make power, we need to know why. too bad he hasn't been more willing to help. if it's true, what a waste.

i think the chamber he made was hollow. there must be something more to it if the prototype did work. anybody have the "res dyno"?

If Doug/Syncivic is willing to share the prototype design, I am willing to get this into production.
The first Groupbuyrder" is 100 units! The cost would be reasonable and HP/$$ is competitive.
Mr. Syncivic will get Royalties for the design.

Thanks Matt...
But from later information it was determined that there were baffles in Doug's design and they were made out of carbon fiber. The baffles opened at certain load points further enhancing the resonance effect.
Based on this, my plate should have made gains at the lower revs, which it did not. But then again, mine was not the smoothest design and about as good as you could expect with the tools I have to machine a 1 inch think plate of aluminum.
Prior to my attempt I send several messages to Doug offering to sign a NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) about this product. I even offered to pay the attorneys fees for this contract to be draft. But all messages were never replied to.
Deduct what you will from this as I have my own thoughts on the viability of such a product.
Hey sidemarker, you still have my plate?? I m ay want that back to put in my collection of failed mods.

still a Masshole
I'd definitely be down with this thing. I sent Doug an email and no response a while back. I think he is working in Greenwich now and possibly for a MB dealership. Someone in the area should look him up.

YES!
And i still BELIEVE YOUR PLATE WORKS!!!!!
no dynos! no track times needed!
but my VSA light proves it!
I have no problems giving back the plate to you although i will miss the power it gave me Unless of course you plan on making clone copies of it and selling me a plate then it would be great
Well i might as well explain it to everyone
since i installed my AEM cai, comptech headers, and exhaust i could never break the tires and chrip second gear like most people could with these mods
but after installing the "plate" my first WOT was noticably different. first it felt like the engine reved faster and second my VSA light flashed like crazy when the car shifted into second. it brought a huge smile on my face when i heard the tires chirping!

I'll run some numbers on getting another made but this time I'll have it CNC machined versus my table saw, drill press and grinder. That should provide smoother surfaces and possibly better low end gains.
Give me a week and I should be able to find out how much a new one would cost and everyone could decide whether or not to peruse it. Someone else will need to dyno it though.

The volume, when shaped right enhanced the torque curve in the split plenum region, but a special "flapper" valve resonated in the chamber in the combined plenum RPM range. The materials used were carbon fiber reeds from perf 2 cycle bikes, but it was how they were used that made the difference. Of note, during testing, the inlet horns were covered with screen to prevent ingestion of broken reeds when poor designs would fail and the induction vacuum would try to injest them.

From what I remember when you remove the factory plate...the upper intake plenum itself has a flapper valve to create some resonance...maybe someone could try and modify the stock flapler and see where that leads us. Just a suggestion.

The IMRC plate should be left alone as it works as intended.
However, I just had a thought on this project and will look into a possibility. This has to do with increasing the volume in the center chamber but have the actuator open another, larger valve in addition to the stock plates.

my best advice is to forget about the RES and MM2. we've got better mods to worry about.

I'd be down....I believe even using Scalbert's piece would yield some gains, but a RES would probably just sick. Perhaps the CF reeds just increase the rate of airflow.
