Lemon Law?

I am just curious, has anyone turned a car in because of the lemon law? With all of the transmissions being replaced I was just wondering if anyone has done this? How many times does something have to go wrong before it can be classified as a lemon? Thanks for the info

Every state is different but in TX ifthe vehicle is fixed three times in a one year and the repair has not solved the same problem then you can inact the lemon law.

I believe in Michigan, the vehicle has to go back more than 3 times for the same problem. Or if the vehicle has been in the shop for more than 30 days the first year for problems not caused by driver error. Such as crooked steering alignment, bad transmission, bad engine, whatever.

But even then, the companies will fight it. Document EVERYTHING. Preponderance of evidence -- whoever has more evidence wins.

My 99 Cobra was a Lemon. The dealer changed 3 gearboxes in the first 6 months and by then they told me this car should be a lemon and that i have to apply for either my money back or a new car. Anyways i did apply for a lemon and they started playing me. After that i changed two more trannies and i brought me a lawyer. It didnt take a long time when they saw my lawyer to give me my money back. The rules as i understood it from my lawyer is if u had the same problem occuring three times within the first 6months then its a lemon. U still can win the case if it didnt pass 14months. After that u cant sue them or do anything. Most dealers will play u and tell u... next month u will get a new car and do that until the 14 months are over. Just bring u a lawyer and it will be over in no time.

I exchanged my 2001 CLS for a 2003 CLS 6speed using the Lemon Law in Florida. It was easy to do. My car sat at the dealership for almost seven weeks awaiting a new transmission. More people should have taken advantage of the Lemon Law.

Ok and how much was ur usage fee. There is no way that I can believe that the dealer gave u a '03 as a trade without charging u a usage fee. Unless u've got ends with the dealership.
