LED Tail Lights

I am replacing my '01 CL-P tail light bulbs with 3 chip, 18 SMT ORACLE LED bulbs [http://www.automotivelightstore.com/...bsbymodel.aspx]. The following information is from Sylvania's Lamp Replacement Guide:
Rear turn signal: 7440
Tail light: 7443
Stop light: 7443
High mount stop light: 7440
Back up light: 7440
Rear sidemarker: 7443

There are four bulbs in the tail light. I think these are the bulb model numbers I need (referring to the above photo):
1) 7440 (back up light)
2) 7440 (rear turn signal)
3) 7443 (tail light/stop light)
4) 7443 (tail light/stop light)
Is this correct?

I have the Acura OEM spoiler. What bulb model number do I need for this light?

Your bulb numbers are correct, and as for the spoiler that is unsure. I am looking at doing the same thing and alot of the LED replacements I have looked at say if using for a dual filiment bulb you need resistors otherwise they might hyperflash or not work at all. Trying to find out how true that is. Keep it updated what you find out and if you do it im very interested in doing this as well. I found a set for 15, and would need 3 sets for the taillights to cover all four tail/brake and the flasher and reverse light. The high mount brake is the same bulb so possibly 4 if your still using your high mount with the spoilers light. THe person who had the car before me disconnected the high mount and used the wire to power the spoilers light so my doesnt function at the moment. Let me know what you find out and what you do. Id like to hear about it.

I talked to an associate at Advanced Automotive Concepts, where I am buying my LEDs from, and he stated that I would be able to use my stock bulb connectors with no problems. I am hoping he is correct and they don't hyper blink. I replaced my stock high mount stop light with a flexible LED tailgate light. I use both this light and the spoiler light. I will keep you updated on this mod.

unless they have resisters in the led lights, they will hyper blink. u can add a resister or change the relay to make the blinking slow down

Im looking at these for the tail light 7443 bulbs.

The seller says they are functionable as a dual filiment so im thinking about trying them. Any opinions?

It appears that those are red LED bulbs; you want white LED bulbs since our tail light lenses are red. Also, I would look for some other LED bulbs with more LEDs in them. Those look like they only have 9 LEDs; the ones I am buying are 18 SMT and 3 chip.

actually you want a red LED on a red lens, it makes them appear brighter because the red lens is not filtering out any light (or very little) like it would be with the white LED's

Not only that, depending on the brightness of a white bulb, the tails may look pink.

WTF. I thought I needed red LED bulbs originally too, but I talked to AAC and they told me that I need white LED bulbs since the red tail light lenses would filter out the red light of the LED bulbs making them appear dim.

Is our OEM bulbs red or white?

OEM bulbs are a whitish yellow color, just a standard incandescent bulb, even then no such thing as being able to get a red colored bulb like that easily, orange/amber ones you can get no problem though

anyways read up on it, but basically the red lens filters out all the OTHER color wavelengths, so all you see is the red light coming through the lens, so why not just only put red light to it in the first place, instead of it having to filter out all the other unusable light

This may not be the same, but with my old Civic I had clear corner lights with a white bulb, then I swapped to amber corners and the lights illuminated better with the amber bulb then they did a white (clear) bulb.

White LED's would probably work best. Tom is right though, you'll need a resitor for the signals. The light on the spoiler is a LED you can't change it, excpet maybe go with a clear one. Those look pretty nice! I've thought about doing this conversion myself but it doesn't seem practical, all the trouble for a diff in output that won't be very noticeable... I did the conversion of everything else, but my tails are tinted anyways. GL and make sure we get some pics of the before and after!

Well I installed LEDs for my door, map dome light and tag light and Im very happy with them. Still doing research on the 7443 and 7440 tail and brake lights because of the conflicting stories about hyperflashing without load resistors. Incase anyone would like to know the lights I bought for the interior heres the links. Prices are decent and ill get pics soon.
