LED replacement for odometer
LED replacement for odometer
anyone wants to replace your stock bulbs with green superbright LED? I have a set for sale...perfectly working...brilliant green color...very bright...no hot spot. I am selling it at cost to get some money to try different color
Pics below is green LED installed..notice, the color is NOT green in the pics cuz my damn camera doesn't take true pics..in real life, it's 10x brighter and greener.

RandomWalk,
Did you breadboard the diodes&resistors or hot glue etc? how long approx. did all that take too? Ive been itching to do it and have a week off starting monday
I was hoping to do the entire instrument cluster, radio and clock (since it burned out) in super Bright Blue to match other aftermarket displays in the cars....

I dunno about a red illuminated dash.... To me it'd look poser bimmer or pontiac
To do the dash youd have to remove all the factory bulbs and make a few breadboards to mount up behind the panels you want to illuminate. On the breadboard itself you have to mount resistors b4 the LED to drop the coltage to whatever the LED your using is rated for (Ohms law). The radio I think already uses LEDS so you will prolly have to replace (unsolder) the existing LEDS and Resistors. Keep in mind that LED's arent like regular bulbs .. you have to put voltage through the correct direction.
I know this is going to be a pain in the ass project but after the V-AFC installation t cant be all that bad lol

Bullet: get that thing out is easy. I must have pulled it out AT LEAST 20 times already
no, this is not soldering into the PCboard..it's mod into the bulb socket..so basically you twist your stock socket off and put this one on...kinda time consuming to do it..but it's safer.
Early this year someone posted a very detailed DIY with pictures. He changed all the bulbs in his dash, climate control, and radio to blue. It looked like it was very difficult with lots of chances to F the whole thing up.
I don't remember who it was but I remember Astro replying that he had ordered the bulbs to do the conversion as well.

Again, it's not just expensive, it's very time consuming....and for me, I simply don' thave the patience to do all of them and I'm not willing to spend hundreds of dollars to replace the lights. I think $20 is enough for me
