Leather Seats

I was looking at my leather seats the other day and noticed they are not tight - the material just seems loose. I've never had leather seats before so I'm not sure if this is normal (the car only has about 4000 mi on it).

Has anyone taken this concern to a dealer? If they do accept that it is not normal - will the resolution be worse than the problem?

blader,

this seems to be commonplace with all TL/CL, including the 04, of acura's recent leather applications. all of the 04 owners on acura-tl are complaining if this. Welcome to acura hit or miss quality. My 03 CLS leather is pretty lose too.

ok i went to my acura dealership at lunch and i explained why the seats had some of the leather loose in the butt area. he said its totally normal cause the seats need some type of give to it. if they were stiff like u bought it and u sit down and something hits it, it will be easier to rip. so he says.

anyway, he walked me around to other cars, mdx's and tl's and showed me the same thing and said it was normal.

I have to take mine in next week for the 6000 km service; that and a few other issues. I'll ask the question and see if I get the same answer.

i had that same problem when i hit about 3,000 miles on my car. took it in and they said its normal wear. i was like wtf. The dealer wont do shit about it. Everytime i go, i bring it up again and again to see if they will fix it anytime. No they wont normal wear. They blammed me cause the they said the driver seat gets used more than the passenger side. Cause its only the driver side that is loose, haha i laughed cause i have at least 2 people in my car about 90% of the time.

whatever stevens creek acura and los gatos will not help you in this situation.

it only makes sense though. if the leather was stiff when new, and u have at least a 130 pound person sitting on it everday, its gonna stretch a little. it doesnt bother me, as long as their are no rips in it.
