lease ending in spring, should I keep the cls-6?
Thought I'd get your feedback on this
I have a silver 3.2cls-6, the lease is ending this spring.
It has 50 000 miles.
Should I buy it and keep it and maybe put a comptech sc on it and have some fun or should I buy something else?
The only other car in my price range that excites me is maybe a charger R/T.
Is it a good idea to put a s/c on it after 50000miles? Anyone here has a lot more millage on their cl-s6 and is the car still running strong?
I like the new TL-S but I find it a bit expensive.
Any feedback is appreciated

The cheapest car out there is always the one currently in your driveway
The Challenger R/T is still a couple of years out... 2008?? 2009 ?? Who knows...
There should be any issues with adding a SC to the car... The mileage factor shouldn't be an issue... If you had 150K miles, then maybe it might be...
I've thought about getting another car, but I can't find anything that really compares to my CLS 6spd. The CLS does alot of things "just right"... It doesn't excel in alot of categories, but overall, it's a damn great car.
Some others cars might be sportier, quicker, better looking, but they always have something that is a deal breaker for me. Examples: G35c - RWD, looks great, decent hp - deal breaker: interior and small trunk. New Mustang - RWD, decent looks, fantastic torque - deal breaker: gas mileage. BMW 335 - blah, blah blah - deal breaker: price. The CLS is a great overall compromise car.
I've got 52K on my 6spd over the last 4 years, and I've always thought I'd get rid of it after 5 years (or when I could get $15K for it in trade). Since it's paid off, I'm starting to think that maybe I should keep it forever... ... or at least until acura makes a new coupe

Don't Mess With Texas
depends on how much you have to pay to keep it...dont you have to pay a shitload at the end of a lease to keep a car? if its not much i would keep it. like everyone else said.....you cant get a car with the features of the CLS6 for the price.

I would keep it unless you just want a different car. You can drive that car into the ground if you want. I think JBlueCLS6 has more mileage than you and he just put his charger on last week. Good luck with your choice

It's just that I know where this one's been and how it was driven

i'd say keep the car, unless you just want something different. if the payments are going to be decent there's really no reason to sell a good car. for me knowing the history on a vehicle is worth a lot. i just got my CL and the car's history was a major factor.

By your own car... you know how you maintained it. And I do have more mileage then you and I just put a blower on. You should have 0 problems but make sure you upgrade brakes, suspension before you jump right into FI.

Why did you lease in the first place? Most folks lease because they want either low payments or get tired/bored of cars quickly. Are you saying you leases it for 3 or 4 years and fell in love with it so much you want to buy it? If that's the case, buy it.
If you're going to get the itch in 6 months, get something newer/fresher. I bought but I am always looking at CLKs and 335s, full well knowing it's not the smartest thing to do...haven't pulled the trigger yet. Yet. There's really no comparable coupe out there except the g35. Maybe Rx8 for the handling, but you'd miss the power.

I wanted to lease it because usually even after 6 months I'm tired of the car. But this time, I really liked it. I also bought a 1986 corvette to have something completely different to have fun with.
Usually, I like to change cars but now, nothing really excites me! Am I the only one like this?

I think I am in a similar boat as you for two reasons:
1) the only things out there that excite me cost $15-20K more (MB, BMW, used Porsche)
2) I too have been considering a corvette for play! Looking more along the lines of a '69-'73, but same idea...

My lease ends in January 2007 and my end of lease purchase price is about $15,000. I have a 2003 CLS-6 with 42,000 miles (My previous car was a 2001 CLS).
But I am kind of on the fence here also; I really would like something new and as DelawareCLS said earlier, to get an equivalent or better car would probably run in the upper $30k to mid $40k range.
I probably will check out the BMW 335, STi Limited and 2007 Infiniti G35 sedan, but if I can't get a new car at a great price, I will consider keeping my CLS. My only concern is that I have always owned cars that are under warranty, but with the CLS, I would probably make an exception.
Another car that looks cool is the new Evo X, but I don't think it will be out until late 2007/early 2008.
Decisions, decisions!
