Launching an 03 Cl-S 5 speed auto
Hey, how in the world can I launch my car without so much wheel spin. With VSA off, the wheels spin like crazy, but with VSA on its half as bad. What do you guys suggest to do in order to get the best start with a 03 Cl-S 5 Speed Auto. Thanks

I am interested only in 0-60, and also I use SS and sometimes auto. With SS i get more wheel spin. Do you suggest to keep VSA on, considering the wheel spin is less?

yeah i got the same results.....it almost feels like the SS isnt any different....it could feel different to the driver but we still got the same results in distance....think about it, first gear is first gear, it doesnt change with SS or auto...there is only one 1st gear in your tranny box....i also find that i dont use the SS much....auto is better when down shifting specially on the highway when u want to pass....i get better results with auto anyway....i think SS was a sales pitch by Honda to sell the Type S....but it doesnt really help your performance numbers or your ability to perform better on the road....car and driver magazine said the same thing when they tested the TL type S......

it's hard to say. they are both very close.
0-60 it really doesn't matter.

U right not too many twisties but....i feel the Auto downshifts automatically better than SS where u have to do it yourself....sometimes u downshift and it wont go in to the gear when u want it to....i put it back on auto floor it and the it goes....i think the SS sucks.....but i admit ill use it once in a blue moon....im use to driving stick anyway.....

sports shift is on the premiums too, not just the typeS. with SS you can screw up and miss the shifting point, but if you do it right it'll be just as fast as in auto mode

actually the computer shifts .01 faster in SS than in auto...and as far as gate shifting :the reason for this is; in ss or auto the car will shift out of first early whereas in D1 it can be held right upto and sometime (unfortunatly) past fuel cut/revlimiter for a small gain

I do only 1-2 and D4 on the Quarter. I brake torque to 2k rpm. I shift at 7K rpm. best 60' is 2.245s to 2.31s if I have sliks and I can go down to 2s in 60' I will be in low 14s

d1-d2-d3 w/ vsa off for the quarter mile...
0-60 it doesn't really matter, gate shifting, ss or full auto...you'll only be in the middle of 2nd gear.

Look this coming Thrusday I'll have my Ct headers in and either Fri. or Sat. will have them on. But I usually don't go to the track on Sat. because its too damm packed. But on Wendays there is 1/2 as many people there and they let u run endlessly for $15 rather than 3 times on Sat. So come up there with me and my friends, we usually caravan up there.
